No, it's a Republican expressing their view of a "staunch conservative."

Some Republicans said President Trump’s latest criticism of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, in which he objected to the Justice Department’s prosecutions of two Republican lawmakers, was misplaced and could make it harder to confirm a replacement for Mr. Sessions if he departs.

The Republicans’ comments came late Tuesday came as senators prepared to question Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaughpublicly for the first time, with Democrats signaling they would ask Wednesday about the attacks on Mr. Sessions and Mr. Trump’s adherence to the rule of law in general.

Two long running, Obama era, investigations of two very popular Republican Congressmen were brought to a well publicized charge, just ahead of the Mid-Terms, by the Jeff Sessions Justice Department. Two easy wins now in doubt because there is not enough time. Good job Jeff......

At issue are a pair of recent tweets from the president criticizing Mr. Sessions for bringing criminal charges against two Republican congressmen ahead of the midterm elections. Mr. Trump tweeted that “two easy wins are now in doubt” and added sarcastically, “Good job Jeff.”

“He’s not making it easier” to confirm his own nominees, Sen. Ron Johnson (R., Wis.) said when asked about Mr. Trump’s tweets, which suggested the back-to-back indictments of two “very popular” Republicans so close to the November elections could endanger the party’s control of the House.

Mr. Trump didn’t identify the lawmakers, but he was apparently referring to Reps. Chris Collins of New York and Duncan Hunter of California, the first two House Republicans to endorse Mr. Trump for president, who were indicted within two weeks of each other last month. Both have pleaded not guilty.
Other Republicans lawmakers said Mr. Trump’s ire was misplaced.

“If anybody’s put themselves in jeopardy, it’s two members of Congress who are going to be facing their time in a courtroom,” said Sen. Cory Gardner (R., Colo.). “DOJ has a very specific job and that is what they need to do. And any administration should support that.”

Mr. Trump has repeatedly taken public jabs at Mr. Sessions’ job performance. The strained relationship of the onetime allies was especially pronounced last month, when Mr. Trump said his attorney general “never took control of the Justice Department” and Mr. Sessions responded that the department on his watch would not be swayed by politics.

The president’s frustration with law enforcement has been evident in recent weeks as his former associates become embroiled in legal trouble, including from Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who is investigating Russia’s interference in the 2016 election.

Some Republicans said the president’s latest message went too far. “The president’s tweet upsets me,” said Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R., Alaska), adding that it was “not appropriate.”

During the first day of Judge Kavanaugh’s confirmation hearing Tuesday, Democrats made clear they are interested in knowing where the Supreme Court nominee stands on Mr. Trump’s treatment of law enforcement.

“You are nominated by that very president who has launched this attack on our Department of Justice, on the rule of law, on law enforcement like the FBI, law enforcement at every level whose integrity he has questioned,” said Sen. Richard Blumenthal, (D., Conn.).

Sen. Jeff Flake (R., Ariz.) mentioned his concern for Mr. Sessions directly.

“Jeff Sessions has resisted pressure from the president to punish his enemies and relieve pressure on his friends,” said Mr. Flake, who has been a regular critic of Mr. Trump. “And many of the questions that you will get on the other side of the aisle—and from me—will be about how you view that relationship.”
Some senators have encouraged Mr. Sessions to stay on the job to avoid a bruising fight over a successor in the weeks before Election Day.

But most expect him to leave after the midterm elections and said they would want to ensure that the person that Mr. Trump nominates to replace the attorney general is independent.

“The standard of independence every time he makes a comment like this rises,” said Sen. Bob Corker (R., Tenn.), who like Mr. Flake is retiring and has criticized the president. “People are going to want somebody that they know to be absolutely independent.”

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R., S.C.) defended the president Tuesday, saying the tweet was “not intended to obstruct justice,” though he added that it was nevertheless “not appropriate.”

Mr. Graham said the message would not affect the difficulty of replacing Mr. Sessions.
“If he is fired or resigns after the election, I think we can find a nominee that would be worthy of the job, that could have the confidence of the president,” Mr. Graham said. “But the price of admission is that nominee’s got to support the Mueller investigation to its conclusion.”

The Justice Department declined to comment on Mr. Trump’s tweets.

Mr. Collins last month said he would suspend his re-election campaign amid insider-trading allegations that derailed what had been viewed as a clear path to another term.

Mr. Hunter and his wife were indicted last month on charges that they had used campaign funds to pay for personal expenses and filed false campaign records. He continues to seek re-election.

These are the same crooked lawyers who prosecuted Republican Senator from Alaska, Ted Stevens, convicted him, who were then punished and fined for wrong-doing by the court system and the conviction over-turned by Eric Holder, of course, that was AFTER Ted Stevens lost re-election to his US Senate seat and was replaced by a Democrat. Don't tell me this isn't the same disgusting politics, which is abuse of power, malicious fraudulent prosecutions, against 2 Republicans in an election year with no time to prove their innocence prior to the election or seek the necessary appeals to a wrongful conviction.

This is political witch hunt bull-shit and Jeff Sessions knows it.
