Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano to visit El Paso on Wednesday

EL PASO - U.S. Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano will visit El Paso on Wednesday to survey border operations.
Napolitano plans a noon news conference at the Bridge of the Americas, as well as a 2 p.m. news conference at the Columbus port of entry in Columbus, New Mexico.

Napolitano also will travel to Arizona later Wednesday. She will speak with state and local law enforcement officials as part of an effort to disrupt illegal arms and cash smuggling, and to curtail illegal immigration.

Napolitano previously traveled to the Southwest border and Mexico on April 1-3 to see border operations firsthand and meet with Mexican officials, including President Felipe Calderón.
