U.S. Border Patrol Agents Make 35 Drug Seizures in 48 Hours

Edinburg, Texas - U.S. Border Patrol agents of the Rio Grande Valley Sector seized nearly 12,000 pounds of marijuana within a 48-hour period.

Agents seized almost six tons of marijuana throughout the Sector on Tuesday and Wednesday. The seizures occurred from Brownsville to Rio Grande City and north to the Falfurrias and Kingsville Border Patrol Checkpoints. The seizures were all unrelated.

The seizures total more than 11,800 pounds and have an estimated street value of nearly $9.5 million. The Drug Enforcement Administration assumed custody of all apprehended individuals and narcotics.
