A typical mexican, Asian, Indian of India person?

Obama, in a recent radio interview, described his white grandmother as a "typical white person."

Obama, it seems that you think what a typical white person is all about.

    So, tell us, Obama:

    1. Typical Mexican person: Could you tell us what in your opinion is a typical Mexican person?

    2. Typical Asian person: Could you tell us what in your opinion is a typical Asian person?

    3. Typical Indian from India: Could you tell us what in your opinion is a typical Indian from India person?

This scares me: A black person running for President of the United States and asking white people to vote for him seems---sadly--- to have a pre-conceived idea of what white people are all about.

Yea, as a "white" American, and after Hussien Obama has let it be known his feelings on this subject, I have very little confidence that this guy will be able to bring anyone together.

Also, as a "white" American, I have no confidence in Obama's wilingness to represent and protect the interests of fellow "white" Americans with the same enthusiam and vigor that he would other ethnic groups in this country.

Would it be wrong to say "She's a typical Asian, she loves family and religion, but if she sees someone on the street she doesn't know, she is apprehensive."? Once again, those who want to read more into something are doing just that.

I think Obama should be FIRED for this hate speech, he has shown he is a bigot.

In case he forgot, he was raised by "white folk", his own family. He should be ashamed of himself!

You're right, he was raised by White folk, so all the more reason to believe he meant no offense when he said it.

To me, the point is this: Any "typical person"---whether white or whatever---would be apprehensive if he/she doesn't know the person or person approaching him/her on the street.

What Obama seems to be saying is that he knows how a "typical white
person" would behave/react when confronted by a certain situation.

That is, Obama is lumping all white people together, when, in reality,
white people from Russia may react to certain situations different from, say, Italians or Irish or Germans.

Just as there are no "typical black people"----black people from the United States might react to situations differently from black people in, say, England or Jamaica---there are no "typical white people."

A candidate for President of the United States should know that there are no "typical" people and that there are no "typical white people." mirse

By using the term "Asian" to lump a group of people together, you are falling into the same trap as Obama
when he talks about "typical white people."

That is, you are lumping Asians of Chinese, Korean, Filipino, Indians from India, Cambodians into the same category of "Asian", and you are assuming that all Asians from different cultures would react to the same situations the same.

And then there is the difference in how Asians from Asia and Asians who were born and raised in the United States would react to the same situation.

So, when you talk about the the Asian who loves family and religion, then you are talking like Obama: You are lumping all Asians, when, in reality, there Christian Asians, Buddhist Asians, Muslim Asians, Hindu Asians and other Asians who come from various other cultures and practice different religions. mirse

I am offended that he refered to anyone in my race to "a typical white person". Whats that supposed to mean?

That is "hate speech" Obama. It is so "TYPICAL" of people like you that want to continue to divide people. IMO, IT IS RACIAL PROFILING! Obama, you need to WITHDRAWL from the race for president. We DO NOT need a BIGOT IN THE WHITE HOUSE!
