White House Watchdog Singled Out For Budget Cuts

The Senate Appropriations Committee has been searching for areas in which to cut the budget, a process that has led to a potential 8 percent slashing of funding for the watchdog of the White House, The Washington Times reported. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/201 ... taliation/

According to the newspaper, the Senate committee was pushed by budget hawks to decrease the budget for the oversight organization. This move has been categorized as punishing the Government Accountability Office (GAO) for doing its job of ferreting out waste too well.
