William's Nostalgia TV Shows from Childhood

I'm making a collection to email some of my friends I grew up with. These are some of the shows that were on when I was a kid. I really liked most of these.

There were shows I did not like, which are included like HR PuffNPot, the Bugaloos, and Sigmon the Sea Monster that I included for laughs.

Star Blazers and Battle of the Planets were my favorites!

While researching some of these, that are very obscure...

I stumbled upon some older shows that ran before I was six years old and were not replayed later. I'm watching some of them on Youtube now after my work is done around midnight.

Of course, I was always a Sci Fi kid.

Does anyone here remember shows named The Starlost, Genesis 2, and Space Raiders?

William, I was the last of six kids, and whatever everyone else watched, I watched. This meant Gilligans Island, Flintstones, and early on, Beattles movies. My own favorites as a kid was the Saturday morning cartoons, Hanna Barbera ones.

As for Sci-Fi stuff, liked it as I got older, and the main favorite movie is "Highlander". My husband watched it for the first time with me years ago and thought I was nuts (with all of the sword fighting, head lopping going on), and no, not the sequal movies, they were lousy.

Liked the Star Trek, mainly the 90's show.

Man from Uncle, Ed Sullivan, daytime soap operas over the summer (my grandmother was adicted), Astro Boy, the OLD cartoons (b&w, formerly shown in movie theaters I think), Wagon Train, Sky King, Dark Shadows, Lawrence Welk, Twilight Zone, Flintstones, Jetsons, Leave it to Beaver and Howdy Doody.

Patty Duke, Bewitched, I dream of Jeannie, Living Doll.

We got the first color TV in our neighborhood, and people stopped by to gawk. I remember the Beatles appearing on Ed Sullivan, and when "A Hard Day's Night" hit the theaters, I vowed, 'I will NOT scream, I will NOT scream." Then, EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEe.

Anybody else here a TV Land fan like me?

One of our favorite things to do is sit in bed with all four kids piled in and watch all the "oldies"

TVLand.com might also be a good place to research old(er) shows.

I lived in a rural area, so the cartoons were watched usually only in the wet months, winter, in summer, they held little interest. However, the all time favorite show was before and after school, "Ramblin' Rod". This guy for years was on channel twelve, then an independent local station, and all the kids wanted to be on it, in the audience and they showed all of the old Looney Tunes. After that Flintstones came on (I think it was about 4), then Gilligans Island around 430 pm, then TV had to be off to get homework and stuff done.

My oldest feels old even, when she talks of her favorite childhood cartoons and her little sister (who is almost 11) goes "huh?". Such as Strawberry Shortcake, Rainbow Brite and My Little Pony and Friends (I miss it too, the day of sweet innocent cartoons and of course she and my niee were little, not adults (they were like sisters, always together, niece is now living far away ).

Am I the only ALIPAC Discussion Boards user that was a big G-Force / Battle of the Planets and Star Blazers fan?
