Would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh buddied-up with neo-Nazi Azov Brigade in Ukraine

Back in May 2022, Ukraine's neo-Nazi Azov Batallion, also known as the Azov Brigade, released a propaganda video promoting the idea that the entire "civilized world" must join Volodymyr Zelensky in fighting to defeat Vladimir Putin and Russia. And featured in the video was none other than Ryan Routh, the 58-year-old most recent would-be assassin of Donald Trump.
Routh took up the cause of fighting for Ukraine in early 2022, even going so far as to travel there to fight for Zelensky. When the Ukrainian military deemed him too old to fight, Routh took on the task of aligning himself with the neo-Nazi Azov Brigade to promote its efforts to stop Russia from completing its special military operation against Kiev.
Check out the propaganda video below featuring Routh to see for yourself what was going on in this guy's mind before he ultimately decided, allegedly, to brandish a firearm and try to take out Trump while the former president was golfing over the weekend:

Video Jack Poso on X: "EXCLUSIVE: Attempted Trump assassin Ryan Routh appeared in a propaganda video for the AZOV BATTALLION in May 2022 https://t.co/eugjHXHXqw" / X

(Related: Remember a few months ago when the U.S. gave the Azov Brigade neo-Nazis the green light to start using U.S.-supplied weapons to wage war on Russia?)
Routh applies to enlist in Ukrainian military

In a failed desperate attempt at public relations damage control, the Zelensky regime actually ended up admitting that, yes, Routh has deep ties to Ukraine and the globalist empire that backs it.
"We believe that the spread of the narrative about the possible connection between Azov and Ryan Wesley Routh is playing along with Russian propaganda and discredits the 12th Special Forces Brigade Azov of the National Guard of Ukraine and the Security and Defense Forces of Ukraine in general," the Zelensky regime said in a statement, once again blaming Russia for this latest bad P.R. moment.
Clearly Routh is featured in the above propaganda video promoting the efforts of Azov, so how, we wonder, can the Zelensky regime just deny the evidence? The answer is because it can, and the American public will do nothing either way.
To make matters even worse for the Zelensky regime and its denial is the evidence published by The GrayZone showing that Routh actually applied to enlist in the Ukrainian military – oh, but this is just "Russian propaganda," according to Zelensky.
A copy of the signed form by Routh requesting admission to Ukraine's neo-Nazi ranks was shared by Routh himself to Facebook before Mark Zuckerberg's "fact checkers" pulled it down for violating "community standards."
"The suspect is a Ukro-maniac who's been radicalized by the Mainstream Media into traveling to Kiev, trying to join the 'International Legion,'" said geopolitical analyst Andrew Korybko.
"There's no way that the earlier mentioned American 'deep state' had no idea who Routh was after he'd already traveled to Kiev to try to join the 'International Legion' and then openly told the New York Times about his plans to recruit Afghan soldiers that fled to Pakistan as refugees," Korybko further wrote.
"He also brazenly boasted about how he'd purchase passports for them from there to facilitate their travel to Ukraine. The FBI might soon 'do the meme' and admit that he was 'on their radar,' but there's much more to it."
Routh was so well-known in the pro-Ukraine zealots community that Newsweek interviewed him at one point – watch the video below:

TREASON: Ryan Routh reportedly had pre-knowledge that Trump was golfing in West Palm Beach before allegedly trying to kill former president – who told him?

For a full twelve hours before allegedly pulling the trigger, Ryan Routh, the latest deranged shooter who tried to assassinate Donald Trump over the weekend, camped out on Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach where he went completely unnoticed the entire time.Reports indicate that Routh's mobile phone stayed in an area of the golf course where he is said to have been camped out between 1:59 a.m. and 1:31 p.m. on September 15.
Once again, Trump's security detail appears to have been missing in action as Routh crept his way through the golf course to get closer to the hole where Trump was playing.
Interestingly, Routh used to be a Trump supporter in 2016, but changed his mind after Trump withdrew the United States from the Iran nuclear deal.
Secret Service agents apparently fired at Routh at a moment when the guy did not even have Trump in his line of sight. The situation is bizarre, to say the least.
(Related: Did you know that the Biden regime is trying to blow up the world before Election Day arrives?)
    Routh was equipped to kill

Court papers reveal that Routh was camped out in a wooded area on Trump's golf course with a loaded SKS-style rifle in hand. Some are questioning how it is possible that Secret Service overlooked his presence for those full 12 hours.
Trump was on the fifth fairway when Secret Service "engaged" Routh, according to Ronald Rowe, acting director of Secret Service. Major media outlets are now saying that Routh never actually fired his weapon at Trump.
Even so, the criminal complaint says that Routh was there to kill and was fully equipped to do so had Secret Service not gotten to him first.
"In addition to a digital camera and two bags, investigators found a loaded SKS-style 7.62x39 caliber rifle with a scope that had an 'obliterated' serial number and a black plastic bag containing food likely to sustain Routh while he waited in the wooded area," NBC News reported.
"Routh was arraigned Monday at the Paul G. Rogers Federal Court House in West Palm Beach on charges of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number."
As of this writing, Routh has not been charged with trying to kill Trump, even though he had weaponry on his person to make that happen.
Body camera footage shows that Routh was wearing sunglasses and a pink t-shirt pulled over his head, exposing his midsection. Routh pulled up his shirt in this way to prove to Secret Service that he was not hiding any weapons, and was quickly thereafter arrested.
The following day, Routh appeared dressed in prison scrubs for a very brief court appearance. Represented by a public defender, Routh now has until September 23 to return to court for further handling by the system.
Based on all the information out there, it is unclear why Routh felt motivated to kill Trump that day. We know he was upset about Trump's "tremendous blunder" in withdrawing the U.S. from the Iran nuclear deal, but that was many years ago and the news cycle has shifted dramatically since that time.
According to Routh in his book, Trump "ended up being brainless, but I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake and Iran I apologize."
"You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgement and the dismantling of the deal," Routh further says in his published work.

Man accused of attempting to assassinate Trump faces 20 years in prison

Ryan Wesley Routh, the man accused of attempting to assassinate former President Donald Trump, made his first appearance in federal court on Monday, Sept. 16.
The 58-year-old is facing serious gun charges following his arrest in West Palm Beach, Florida, where he allegedly targeted Trump with an AK-47 rifle while the former president was golfing at Trump International Golf Club.
According to court documents, Routh allegedly aimed the weapon at Trump through a fence while Trump was playing a round of golf on Sunday. The Secret Service swiftly intervened, ensuring Trump's safety and moving him to a secure location. Trump, 78, was unharmed.
Routh, dressed in black prison scrubs and shackled, faced two main charges: possession of a firearm as a convicted felon and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. These charges carry a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison.
Routh's court appearance lasted only eight minutes and he did not enter a plea. His bond hearing is scheduled for September 23, with a probable cause hearing set for September 30.
Further investigation has revealed that Routh was surveilling the golf course for nearly 12 hours before his arrest. Cell phone data tracked his movements from 1:59 a.m. to 1:31 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 15, suggesting he had advance knowledge of Trump's presence at the course.
Routh reportedly staked out the location and positioned himself for the attack, indicating a level of premeditation. Routh's arrest occurred about 50 miles from the golf course in Martin County.
Law enforcement, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), held a press conference on Sunday, revealing images and details of the scene. These images showed that Routh had left behind an AK-47-style rifle, a backpack, a GoPro camera and ceramic body armor near the sixth hole of the golf course. This evidence highlights the seriousness of the attempt and the planning involved.
During his court appearance, Routh was notably cheerful and courtroom sketches captured his wide smile, which drew attention from reporters.
Martin County Sheriff Will Snyder expressed concerns about whether Routh acted alone or was part of a broader conspiracy. Snyder questioned how Routh, who is not from the local area, managed to reach Trump International Golf Club and whether he had accomplices.
Snyder compared the situation to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy and emphasized the gravity of the incident.
    Trump's would-be assassin is an ex-convict

Routh's background includes a troubling criminal history.
In 2002, he was convicted in North Carolina for weapon law violations and terrorist threats. This conviction followed a three-hour standoff with law enforcement after he barricaded himself inside a roofing business following a traffic stop. Routh's prior offenses and the severity of the current charges raise concerns about his potential motivations and connections.
Routh's son, 35-year-old Oran, expressed disbelief over his father's actions.
Oran described his father as a non-violent person who did not even own a gun. He admitted his father’s dislike for Trump but maintained that he couldn't believe his father would target the former president. This familial perspective adds another layer to the investigation, as authorities work to understand Routh's motives and possible affiliations. (Related: Trump denounces Biden-Harris administration for destructive policies that "hurt the American people.")
The charges against Routh are preliminary and additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
Although he has not yet been charged with making threats against a former president – an offense that could add five years to his sentence – his actions are being scrutinized closely. Law enforcement is keenly interested in any possible links to broader conspiracies or additional threats to public figures.

BIG QUESTION: Is the 2nd Trump would-be-assassin a CIA ASSET? According to his social media connects the answer seems to be an astounding YES

    09/19/2024 // S.D. Wells // 1.2K Views

Tags: assassination, bias, big government, CIA asset, conspiracy, corruption, coverup, deep state, insanity, lunatics, meta routh, MK Ultra, psycho, rigged, routh assassin, Ryan Routh, Suppressed, trump assassin, trump shooter, Twisted, unhinged, White House, x routh

Ryan Routh, the 2nd crazy man who was allegedly all set to assassinate Trump and was staked out for 12 hours about 300 yards from the golf hole that Trump was going to be playing in just 3 more holes, has a very interesting social media “following” that some influencers screen-captured before META, X and the FBI suspended it all.
Routh, a private citizen from Hawaii who works as a handyman home repair guy, was somehow overseas recruiting soldiers to fight for Ukraine against Russia. This man’s tweets all look automated, like AI generated, from the screenshots captured before the highly corrupt FBI and tech giants erased it all. On X (Twitter), Routh only followed 60 people, including one of his first “follows” named Soo Kim, who just so happens to be ex-CIA. Is CIA Soo Kim one of Ryan Routh’s handlers?
Also, Soo Kim’s account is PRIVATE, so why in the world would Ryan Routh bother following her? Other influencers saw that Soo Kim followed Routh also. Red flag for sure. It runs deeper. Listed under CIA training grounds, agents explore political relationships entangled with military power, the use of terror by small “non-state” groups, and the “threat and use of nuclear weapons.”
Here comes the rub. Routh is a convicted felon and has a criminal rap sheet a mile long (over 100 criminal charges), including (possession) being caught with some form of a “weapon of mass destruction” in 2002.

This man Routh had very few real followers, but for some reason he’s recruiting and building a special forces militia army to fight to the death in Ukraine. Is this crazed shooter an MK ultra experiment, like the Batman Theatre shooter who massacred people while high on psyche drugs?
Now that the FBI has this alleged Trump-assassin-wanna-be in custody, surely, he will be “suicided” soon in some strange event where the power goes out in the prison, in a cell corridor where there is no video surveillance, so he can never talk and give up his contacts and the people who hired him to try to kill Trump. From his social media history, Routh appears to be a Neo-Nazi, an avid Democrat campaign contributor, and a CIA asset hired to kill Donald J. Trump on a golf course. Follow the bouncing ball here.
If somebody pro-Trump tried to assassinate Biden or Harris, there’s no way FBI or META would take down their social media accounts, and MSM would exploit them

META and FBI deleted Ryan Routh’s social media accounts, but if he had been a Trump supporter who tried to shoot Biden or Harris, you can bet those accounts would still be open and visible, with the Mass Media Complex talking about it 24/7, and accusing all Trump supporters of being deranged extremists capable of the same.
One thing nearly all FBI and CIA stooges (patsies) have in common is their criminal rap sheet a mile long that the FBI and CIA can use against them to coerce them into committing new criminal acts. Plus, they’re usually jacked up on SSRI psychotropic drugs, but we’ll never find that out with Ryan Routh or Thomas Crooks, since the FBI had Crooks cremated almost immediately and Routh is in FBI custody already.
Routh claimed in media interviews filmed in front of the U.S. Capital building that he talks to over 100 possible recruits every day (Afghan rebels) to see if they will come join the meat grinder on the front lines of Ukraine’s (NATO’s) battle in further efforts to start World War III. Tune your scamdemic frequency to Censored.news for truth news about the insane Leftists and the politicians who instigate them to try to assassinate Trump.

Man who tried to shoot Trump on golf course wrote a book encouraging assassinations of world leaders

    09/23/2024 // Cassie B. // 490 Views

Tags: active shooter, assassination, big government, chaos, conspiracy, Dangerous, lunatics, national security, psycho, Putin, Russia, Ryan Wesley Routh, self-published book, shootings, Trump, Unexplained, unhinged, violence, White House, world leaders

The man behind the most recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump, Ryan Routh, penned a 291-page book about Ukraine in which he called on Iran to assassinate the former president. In the self-published book, entitled Ukraine’s Unwinnable War, he labeled Trump a “buffoon” and a “fool” for actions such as the Capitol incident on January 6, 2021, and exiting the Iran nuclear deal.
Routh noted that as someone who voted for Trump in the past, he shouldered some of the blame for his decisions as president, writing: “I must take part of the blame for the retarded child that we elected for our next president that ended up being brainless, but I am man enough to say that I misjudged and made a terrible mistake and Iran I apologize.”
“You are free to assassinate Trump as well as me for that error in judgment and the dismantling of the deal. No one here in the US seems to have the balls to put natural selection to work or even unnatural selection,” he added.
One chapter of the book, “Why has Putin not been assassinated?”, is devoted to his view on the Russian leader. He questions why Putin hasn’t been assassinated yet and why Russian people “are brainwashed into totally blind sheep.”
“How has the entire world failed to chop of[f] the head of the snake?”, he asks, before conceding that many people think whoever takes his place will simply continue his actions and policies. He also says he’d like to borrow a boat and launch thousands of drones from international waters to Putin’s residences.
He then turns his attention to Belarus, asking why President Alexander Lukashenko has not been assassinated yet. He wrote: “We must do more. We must support all of these Belarusian refugees to stand for their freedom and end the life of Putin’s dog in Belarus."
Routh also mentioned that he had “5900 Afghan soldiers ready to deploy to Ukraine” in a reference to his bizarre efforts to send Afghan soldiers who were escaping from the Taliban to go fight in Eastern Europe. He spent several months trying to recruit soldiers in Ukraine and campaigned in the central square of Kiev, although he did so without support from Ukrainian officials.
Routh facing federal charges for attempted assassination of Trump

Not surprisingly, it’s his anti-Trump rhetoric that is getting the most attention in light of his recent assassination attempt against him. On September 15, Routh managed to get within 500 yards of Trump and set up at a chain link fence on the edge of the fifth and sixth holes of a course at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach where the former president was playing. He was caught with an AK-47 as well as a GoPro camera set up, presumably to record his assassination efforts.
A Secret Service agent saw him and opened fire on him when he tried to place his gun through an opening in the fence. He fled but police later caught up to him on I-95, where he was arrested. It is believed that he sat at his makeshift sniper post for nearly 12 hours in hopes of encountering Trump.
The 58-year-old was charged by federal prosecutors on Monday with multiple firearm violations for the incident, which is being classified as an attempted assassination on the former president. Among the charges are possessing a firearm while having a previous felony conviction and possessing a firearm whose serial number has been removed.
A motive has yet to be revealed, but his extensive writings on social media as well as his self-published books show an obsession with international conflicts and other political topics and a fixation on what he perceived to be Trump's failures as president.

New details emerge about assassination plot against Trump as page from manifesto is released

    09/27/2024 // Cassie B. // 70 Views

Tags: active shooter, assassination, big government, chaos, conspiracy, corruption, deep state, Donald Trump, insanity, lunatics, national security, psycho, rigged, Ryan Wesley Routh, Secret Service, Traitor, treason, Twisted, unhinged, violence, White House

As more details emerge about the most recent assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump, it is becoming clear that he came a lot closer to losing his life than initial reports made it seem – and the more we know about his would-be assassin, Ryan Wesley Routh, the more questions we have.
Routh sat in the trees surrounding a golf course in Florida where Trump was golfing earlier this month, waiting with a rifle until he could take his shot. It turns out that he had been staking out the president as well as his golf course for several weeks, traveling from North Carolina to West Palm Beach in mid-August and visiting Trump’s Mar-a-Lago residence and golf course on numerous occasions in the month leading up to the assassination attempt.
After seeing his rifle poking out of the tree line of the golf course several holes ahead of Trump's location, a Secret Service agent fired at Routh, and he was then observed by a witness fleeing the scene and driving away. The former president was said to be between 12 and 15 minutes away from reaching the sixth hole, where Routh was set up and would have had a clear shot of just 100 feet. However, law enforcement eventually caught up with him, spotting his car on a nearby highway and arresting him.
Routh had a rifle with its serial number scratched off and a bullet in its chamber. He also had bags that contained armored plates that could withstand shots from the types of pistols typically carried by Secret Service agents. Prosecutor Mark Dispoto described Routh's setup as “nothing short of a sniper position” and “something you might see in a movie or a war zone.”
They also discovered he had two extra sets of license plates, along with six cell phones and 12 pairs of gloves. One of the phones had looked up an escape route he could take from Palm Beach to Mexico. It is not clear how he obtained the fake license plates. Agents also found a fingerprint belonging to him on a piece of tape attaching a scope to the rifle that was found just outside the golf course.
Routh gave mystery box to civilian witness ahead of assassination attempt

Details have also been released about a mysterious box he gave to a civilian witness several months ago with four cell phones, metal materials, pipes, ammo and hand-written letters.
The witness reportedly took a photo of the first page of the letter and forwarded it to the FBI a few days after Routh’s assassination attempt on the president. The letter is said to claim that Routh wanted to kill Trump because he thought he was unfit for office and would destroy America’s moral fabric, echoing a common refrain made by Biden in his speeches in the run-up to the election.
Although the witness claims to have received the box well before the attempt, the letter it contained correctly predicted that Routh would fail to kill Trump. It stated: “This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you. I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job.” He also referred to Trump’s handling of Iran and the Middle East as motivation in the letter.
The 58-year-old was charged with two firearm-related offenses last week but is expected to face more serious charges as the investigation into the assassination attempt goes on.

Second Trump would-be assassin Ryan Wesley Routh pleads NOT GUILTY

    10/03/2024 // Ramon Tomey // 160 Views

Ryan Wesley Routh, the second would-be assassin of former President Donald Trump, has entered a not-guilty plea for the attempted assassination on Sept. 15 that Secret Service agents managed to foil.
The 58-year-old shooter pleaded innocent on Sept. 30 during his appearance before U.S. Magistrate Judge Bruce E. Reinhart of the Southern District of Florida. The Monday hearing saw Routh appear before the court to answer the charges filed against him concerning his assassination attempt on Trump.
"Routh … wore a beige inmate's outfit with a dark brown undershirt," NBC News reported. "[He] sported black, thick-rimmed glasses and was clean-shaven, in stark contrast with the white beard he had at his earlier detention heating. Routh … was escorted into court by a U.S. marshal wearing a suit and black gloves."
During Routh's less-than-five-minute appearance before Reinhart, he gestured toward reporters and audience members by pantomiming, scribbling on a notepad and then pointing to himself. The magistrate read the charges and asked if Routh understood, with the 58-year-old answering in the affirmative. Routh's defense attorneys waived an official reading of the charges, entered the not-guilty plea and requested a jury trial.
Federal prosecutors indicted Routh on five counts, alleging that he "did intentionally attempt to kill … Trump, a major presidential candidate." Aside from the one count of attempted assassination, he was also indicted with one count of assaulting a federal officer and three other weapons violations. According to the news outlet, Routh "could spend the rest of his life behind bars if he is convicted on all counts."
Routh offers $150k "to whoever can complete the job"

According to the indictment, a Secret Service agent noticed the muzzle of Routh's firearm while he was hiding in the bushes at the Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida. The agent fired upon the would-be assassin, prompting Routh to flee in a black car. A concerned citizen managed to take pictures of Routh's getaway vehicle's license plate, allowing law enforcement to apprehend him.
The National Pulse previously reported that Routh appears to have extensive ties to individuals in Ukraine, Afghanistan and Iran. Aside from this disclosure, a months-old letter penned by Routh announced a six-figure bounty for anyone successful enough to take out the real estate mogul. According to the New York Post, Routh also admitted in the letter that the rhetoric used by Democrats inspired his failed attempt to kill Trump.
"This was an assassination attempt on Trump, but I failed you," Routh's letter reads. "I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job, and I will offer $150,000 to whoever can complete the job." The Post also mentioned that Routh's trial has been randomly assigned to U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon, who also handles Trump's classified documents case. In July, she dismissed criminal charges against the former president filed by Special Counsel Jack Smith. Cannon argued at the time that Smith's appointment as special counsel by the Department of Justice violated the Constitution.
Aside from Cannon, Reinhart is another magistrate with ties to Trump. He was the judge who approved the 2022 search warrant that authorized the Federal Bureau of Investigation to raid the former president's Mar-a-Lago home in Florida. The raid resulted in the classified documents case pursued by Smith, which Cannon now oversees.
Routh's Sept. 15 attempt on Trump's life was the second one the former president survived. In July, Thomas Matthew Crooks fired a bullet in Trump's direction – but only grazed his right ear. Law enforcement neutralized Crooks moments after he pulled the trigger.

Would-be Trump assassin Ryan Routh warns from prison that victory for former president will spell “the end of democracy”

The second guy who tried to kill President Trump earlier this year is warning America that "civil war" is next now that Trump has won a second term.
Right before Trump actually won by a landslide, Ryan Wesley Routh wrote a letter to the Palm Beach Post from his jail cell in Miami petitioning anyone who would read it to get out there and vote for Kamala Harris.
"... choose democracy over a dictator," reads one line from Routh's letter, democracy referring to Kamala and dictator referring to Trump. Now that Trump has won, Routh's line about this marking "the end of democracy and the beginnings of a civil war" have yet to be fulfilled.
"Will Palm Beach County hand the keys to our nation to the Trumps for the next century or more?" Routh further asked in his letter. "How does Palm Beach view its neighbor?"
In a bit of apparent comedy at the end, Routh signed off his letter as "Trump Alleged Shooter Ryan W. Routh."
(Related: Did you know that Routh kept a list of every location where Trump would be from August through October of this year?)
    Is democracy dead?

Routh was arrested back in September after the U.S. Secret Service (SS) found him hiding in the bushes at Trump's golf course in West Palm Beach. Routh was reportedly aiming a rifle at Trump who was playing the course at the time Routh was spotted.
The 58-year-old diehard Ukraine supporter was arrested and charged with attempted assassination of a presidential candidate, assaulting a law enforcement officer and unlawful possession of a firearm. Routh is currently awaiting trial.
"This was an assassination attempt on Donald Trump but I failed you," Routh wrote in another letter he wrote about his failed efforts to kill Trump before Election Day.
"I tried my best and gave it all the gumption I could muster. It is up to you now to finish the job; and I will offer $150,000 to whomever can complete the job."
Election Day has since come and gone with Trump still alive and declared the winner, so Routh's all-around efforts were a dud. He will now likely live out most or all of the rest of his days behind bars, presumably writing more letters to the public about his musings and political advice.
Routh was the second known guy to try to kill Trump this year, the first being Thomas Matthew Crooks who, back in July, fired a bullet at Trump during a political rally in Butler, Penn. Crooks killed one rally goer and injured two others, as well as took a chunk out of Trump's ear, before he was shot dead by a sniper.
"The American people are unusual," one commenter wrote about the situation and the way the American people tend to handle politics in a weak, passive-aggressive way.
"The government can bury them up to their neck in cow **** and the people will explain why it is unconstitutional to do that. They will tell the government if they do this one more time, they are going to get very angry."
"Trump and Kamala are two sides of the same coin, puppets in the hands of the Zionist puppeteers," suggested another about how this all somehow feels like a staged WWF match.
"America was meant to be a constitutional republic, never a democracy!" clarified another about the routine misuse of words by the political establishment. "USA Inc. is corrupt, through and through. It is time for the return of the republic."

Thwarted Trump assassin sought rocket launcher from Ukraine, DOJ reveals

    • Ryan Wesley Routh, accused of attempting to assassinate Donald Trump, allegedly sought military-grade weapons—including a rocket launcher — from a Ukrainian contact in August 2024, one month before his arrest. His encrypted messages revealed intent to stop Trump from being reelected.
    • Court documents show Routh began planning the attack as early as March 2024, conducting reconnaissance and discussing Trump’s movements — even referencing the July 2024 Pennsylvania assassination attempt with regret.
    • On September 15, 2024, Routh was caught setting up a sniper hideout near Trump’s Florida golf club with an SKS rifle. He fled but was later arrested with burner phones, fake IDs, stolen plates and an escape plan.
    • Routh faces multiple felony charges, including attempted assassination of a presidential candidate. Prosecutors seek to admit evidence of his weapons procurement efforts, while his defense alleges witness coercion by law enforcement.
    • The case underscores threats to political figures, the potential for international weapon sourcing and the complex security challenges in thwarting extremist plots. The trial, set for September, may reveal deeper security and political extremism concerns.

In a chilling revelation, federal prosecutors have detailed how Ryan Wesley Routh, the man accused of attempting to assassinate President Donald Trump, sought to acquire military-grade weapons, including a rocket launcher, from a Ukrainian contact. The attempt to source these weapons occurred just one month before Routh's arrest on September 15, 2024, outside Trump International Golf Club in West Palm Beach, Florida.
    The plot unfolds

Routh, a 58-year-old from North Carolina, allegedly began planning the assassination of President Trump as early as March 2024. According to court documents, Routh's plot was methodical and premeditated, involving extensive reconnaissance and the acquisition of various weapons and equipment.
In August 2024, Routh reached out to a contact he believed to be in Ukraine, using an encrypted messaging app. In one exchange, Routh requested, "send me an RPG [rocket-propelled grenade] or Stinger and I will see what we can do... [Trump] is not good for Ukraine." He further inquired about the price and shipping options, stating, "I need equipment so that Trump cannot get elected."
Routh's communications also included discussions about the July 2024 assassination attempt on Trump in Pennsylvania, where he allegedly expressed regret, saying, "I wish." He sent a photo of Trump's plane, writing, "Trump's plane, he gets on and off daily," indicating his intent to target the president's movements.
    The attempt and aftermath

On September 15, 2024, Routh allegedly set up a sniper hideout near Trump International Golf Club, armed with a military-grade SKS rifle. He was spotted by Secret Service agents before he could take a shot. When confronted, Routh fled the scene but was later arrested in Martin County, Florida. He was found in possession of multiple burner phones, fake IDs, stolen license plates and a written escape plan.
Routh is charged with attempting to assassinate a presidential candidate, possessing a firearm in furtherance of a crime of violence, assaulting a federal officer, being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition, and possession of a firearm with an obliterated serial number. He has pleaded not guilty to all charges.
    Legal and investigative developments

The Department of Justice (DOJ) filed a motion on Monday, April 8, to admit evidence of Routh's attempts to obtain military-grade weapons. Prosecutors argue that these communications are "direct evidence of his assassination attempt" and demonstrate his intent to harm Trump.
The motion also details Routh's WhatsApp communications with an individual named "Ramiro" in Mexico, whom Routh told he would be in Mexico City after September 15. Prosecutors say this is evidence of Routh's intended "flight from law enforcement."
Routh's defense team has filed a 13-page motion alleging that law enforcement used "impermissibly suggestive" tactics during the interview of an eyewitness, identified as T.C.M. They claim the witness felt pressured to identify Routh due to the presence of multiple law enforcement agencies.
    Why it matters

This case highlights the ongoing threats to high-profile political figures and the lengths to which individuals may go to achieve their goals. The attempted assassination of a significant political figure underscores the need for robust security measures and the importance of addressing the root causes of such extreme actions.
The revelation of Routh's attempts to acquire military-grade weapons from Ukraine also raises questions about the accessibility of such weapons and the potential for international connections in domestic threats. It serves as a stark reminder of the complex and evolving nature of security challenges in the modern era.
    Conclusion

As the trial approaches, scheduled to begin on September 8, the case against Ryan Wesley Routh continues to unfold, revealing a meticulously planned and potentially internationally connected plot. The outcome of this trial will not only determine Routh's fate but also provide insights into the broader issues of security, political extremism and the global dimensions of domestic threats.
