Mom's Homemade Super Laundry Sauce

Here is an amazingly simple Do It Yourself detergent that doesn't leave any residue on clothing, gets nearly every stain known to man out the first time around and smells clean and fresh- oh and did I mention that it costs about $1.76 for 128 loads of laundry?
Since our teen son started working at a fast food restaurant, this has become our most-loved detergent recipe. His clothing was so saturated with heavy french fry and onion ring grease scent that even washing them in TIDE didn't take out the horrendous smell. I whipped up a half gallon of this detergent and washed his clothes while he was at school- he thought I'd gotten a new shirt from his boss at work! First time EVER that ALL of the smell finally came out of his clothes, without further à deux - here is my Super Laundry Sauce recipe!
As with ALL household/Soap/Detergent/ Cleaner recipes, please take the time to read through the ENTIRE recipe before starting it. It will save you loads of hassle with a recipe that doesn't set properly.
~ This makes 1/2 Gallon of concentrate ~

Vitamin E May Slow Alzheimer’s Brain Decline

MINNEAPOLIS (UPI) — For patients with mild to moderate Alzheimer’s, vitamin E was effective in slowing brain decline and in reducing caregiver assistance, U.S. researchers say.
Dr. Maurice W. Dysken of the Minneapolis VA Health Care System and colleagues examined the effectiveness and safety of vitamin E, memantine — a class of Alzheimer’s medications — and the combination for treatment of functional decline in patients with mild to moderate AD. The study participants took an acetylcholinesterase inhibitor — a chemical that increases the level and duration of action of the neurotransmitter acetylcholine.
The trial involved 613 patients at 14 Veterans Affairs medical centers. Participants received either 2,000 International Units/day of vitamin E, 20 milligrams/d of memantine, the combination, or a placebo. Change in functional decline was gauged via the Alzheimer’s Disease Cooperative Study/Activities of Daily Living Score.
The study, scheduled to be published in the January issue of the Journal of the American Medical Association, found over the average follow-up time of 2.3 years, participants receiving vitamin E had slower functional decline than those receiving placebo, with the annual rate of decline in activities of daily living reduced by 19 percent. In addition, caregiver time was reduced by about 2 hours per day in the vitamin E group.
This treatment effect translates into a clinically meaningful delay in progression in the vitamin E group of 6.2 months. Neither memantine nor the combination of vitamin E and memantine showed clinical benefit in this trial, the researchers said.

Jerry Miculek battered himself firing a short-barreled .500 Smith & Wesson Magnum recently, and decided that that was “all the fun he wanted” at the time.
He must have had a minor change of heart towards firing the half-inch monsters, because now he’s taken out (and taken on) a Desert Eagle in the bruising .50AE on view request.

The recoil of the .50 AE is the huge pistol was a lot less fierce than the .500 S &W Magnum was in the much smaller and lighter revolver, but still not anything I have any desire to try.

Ryan’s Range Report gives a good review of the SWFA SS 1-6×24 front-focal plane (FFP) scope. Ryan’s experience with low-to-mid-range scopes mirror’s my own: make sure to buy the cattail if you’re going to be changing magnification often or need to do so quickly.
