STEP 3 - THE SYSTEM WOULD THEN ASK THE CALLER TO SPELL SLOWLY OUT THE LAST NAME OF THE APPLICANT AND WHEN DONE TO PRESS THE # SIGN. The system would then relay the name they entered and ask the caller to verify by pressing the # sign again. If incorrect the system would request that the caller press the * sign to allow them to reenter the right name.
STEP 4 - THE SYSTEM WOULD THEN ASK THE CALLER TO ENTER THE SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER OR TAX ID NUMBER OF THE PERSON SEEKING EMPLOYMENT AND ASK TO PRESS THE # SIGN WHEN FINISHED. The system would then relay the number they entered and ask the caller to verify by pressing the # sign again. If incorrect the system would request that the caller press the * sign to allow you to reenter the right number.
STEP 5 - THE SYSTEM WOULD THEN ASK THE CALLER TO ENTER THE STREET ADDRESS NUMBER ON FILE WITH THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION OF THE PERSON SEEKING EMPLOYMENT AND ASK TO PRESS THE # SIGN WHEN FINISHED. The system would then relay the number they entered and ask the caller to verify by pressing the # sign again. STEP 6 - THE SYSTEM WOULD THEN ASK THE CALLER TO ENTER THE ZIP CODE OF THE POTENTIAL EMPLOYEE THAT IS ON FILE WITH THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION AND ASK TO PRESS THE # SIGN WHEN FINISHED. The system would then relay the number they entered and ask them to verify by pressing the # sign again. If incorrect the system would request that they press the * sign to allow them to reenter the right number.
STEP 7 - IF THE NUMBERS ENTERED IN STEPS 2 THRU 6 MATCHES WHAT IS ON FILE WITH THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION THE SYSTEM WOULD THEN GIVE THE CALLER A NUMBER TO PLACE ON FORM I-9 FOR VERIFICATION OF ELIGIBILITY TO WORK. IF ANY OF THE INFORMATION FAILS TO MATCH THE SYSTEM WOULD NOTIFY THE CALLER THAT THE NUMBERS DON'T MATCH AND TELL THEM THAT THE PERSON IS NOT ELIGIBLE TO WORK AT THIS TIME. IT WOULD THEN INSTRUCT THE CALLER TO TELL THE POTENTIAL EMPLOYEE TO CONTACT THE SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION TO UPDATE THEIR INFORMATION ON FILE.
STEP 8 - THE PERSON CALLING WOULD THEN BE NOTIFIED THAT THEY ARE REQUIRED TO CALL BACK THE SYSTEM WITHIN 7 DAYS OF THE APPLICANT STARTING WORK AND PRESS OPTION 3 AND ENTER THE VERIFICATION NUMBER AND PRESS THE # SIGN WHEN FINISHED. The system would then relay the number they entered and ask them to verify by pressing the # sign again. If incorrect it would request that they press the * sign to allow them to reenter the right number.
