Manchester, NH (PRWEB) January 05, 2012
Revolution PAC will help propel U.S. Rep. Ron Paul to victory in the New Hampshire Republican Primary with a six-figure investment in advertising airtime between now and January 10.
Aired will be a broadcast version of the super committee's viral web video, “The Compassion of Dr. Ron Paul.” A total of 237 spots featuring the 60-second ad will run on CNN, FOX, MSNBC, Discovery and History channels, and ABC, including three airings during Saturday's ABC News/WMUR Debate at St. Anselm College in Manchester.
Results of a new Washington Times/JZ Analytics Poll, taken Wednesday, show Paul in strong second position in New Hampshire. His top-tier finish at Tuesday's Iowa Caucuses produced a seven-point bounce, to 24 percent.
Enjoying nearly a half-million You Tube views since its release last week, as well as a hit on NBC Nighly News, “Compassion” highlights the Texas congressman and medical doctor’s personal generosity and support of free market health care. Featured is the story of James Williams of Matagorda County, Texas, and his young wife who found themselves under Dr. Paul's care during a high-risk delivery in 1972. In the video, Williams recounts the prejudice of the day and how Paul looked beyond color lines to deliver their bi-racial child when other nurses and doctors ignored James’ pleas for help.
“Dr. Paul understands that in medicine, individuals are best served when physicians are able to practice their craft freely,” explains Revolution PAC Chair Gary Franchi. “We are proud to spotlight not only Ron Paul’s legendary professional integrity but also his spirit of generosity with this ad.”
James Williams and the broadcast version of "Compassion" will be featured Friday on "Freedom Watch with Judge Napolitano" on FOX Business Channel.
Revolution PAC is supporting Ron Paul’s consistent, constitutional message with targeted TV advertising, direct mail campaigns and innovative Web promotions complemented by billboards and radio ads in key primary states. Unlimited donations by individuals, businesses and organizations are being accepted by Revolution PAC to support that effort.

Ron Paul Surging in New Hampshire Following Top-Tier Finish in Iowa
New survey shows Paul with double the poll numbers of the third place candidate, solidifying Paul’s position as the ‘Option to Romney’LAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul is in second place in the key early voting state of New Hampshire with a remarkable 24 percent of the vote, according to a new poll.
The Washington Times/Zogby Analytics Poll, taken after the Iowa Caucuses Iowa shows, Rick Santorum with just 11 percent, and Newt Gingrich, Jon Huntsman, and Rick Perry earned just 9, 8, and 1 percent, respectively.
Poll highlights include an acknowledgment that Paul has an opportunity for growth, and that about half of all single voters support the 12-term Congressman from Texas.
“On the heels of his close third place finish at the Iowa Caucus, Ron Paul is polling a strong second place in New Hampshire. From here on out, it is a two-man race between Ron Paul and Mitt Romney given that one of the tickets out of Iowa was a dead-end due to Rick Santorum’s glaring lack of viability,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
“There are only two campaigns that have the resources and infrastructure to win the Republican nomination – and one of those organizations belongs to Ron Paul,” added Mr. Benton.
The poll of 498 likely primary voters has a margin of error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points and ten percent undecided, showing Dr. Paul with the potential to catch and surpass Gov. Romney and win the Granite State.

The Atlantic: Ron Paul Vindicated on Iran
Writes The Atlantic’s Robert Wright:
A week ago Ron Paul tried to convey how the ever-tightening sanctions on Iran–which may soon includean embargo on its oil–look from an Iranian point of view: It’s as if China were to blockade the Gulf of Mexico, he said–”an act of war”.
This is sheer conjecture; Ron Paul is no expert on Iran. But now someone who does have relevant credentials has weighed in, and the picture he paints is disturbingly reminiscent of the one Paul painted. It suggests we may be closer to war than most people realize.
Vali Nasr, in addition to being a highly respected expert on the Middle East, belongs to a family that, according to Lobelog’s sources, has “a direct line into Iranian Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s inner circle.” In a Bloomberg View piece that is getting a lot of attention, Nasr reports that “Iran has interpreted sanctions that hurt its oil exports, which account for about half of government revenue, as acts of war.” Indeed, the Iranian leadership now sees U.S. policy as “aimed at regime change.”
In this light, Iran’s recent threats–notably that it will close the Strait of Hormuz in response to an oil embargo–shouldn’t be dismissed, says Nasr. “The regime in Tehran is ready for a fight.”
The good news is that Nasr thinks war can be averted. The bad news is that to accomplish this America and other Western powers need to “imagine how the situation looks from Tehran”–not exactly a favorite pastime among American politicians these days.
Still, if only for the intellectual exercise, let’s do try to imagine what things look like from Iran’s point of view.
Iran’s nuclear scientists have recently evinced a tendency to get assassinated, and a mysterious explosion at a military facility happened to kill the general in charge of Iran’s missile program… If you were Iranian, would you consider assassinations on your soil grounds for attacking the suspected perpetrators?
Well, we know that some notable Americans think assassinating people on American soil is punishable by war…
Underlying our Iran strategy is the assumption that if we keep ratcheting up the pressure, the regime will eventually say uncle. A problem with this premise is that throughout human history rulers have shown an aversion to being seen by their people as surrendering…
This doesn’t mean Iran’s rulers haven’t wanted to make a deal… When President Ahmadinejad visited New York last year, he gave reporters unmistakable signals that he wanted to negotiate, but the Obama administration chose to ignore them…
Even so, Iran’s foreign minister made another appeal to re-open talks only days ago, suggesting that they be held in Turkey. But, as the New York Times reported, western nations interpreted this overture “as an effort by Iran to buy time to continue its program.” Got that? If Iranians refuse to negotiate it means they don’t want a deal, and if they ask to negotiate it means they don’t want a deal.
Nasr says the tightening of the screws is making Iran increasingly determined to get nuclear weapons–not to start a war, but to prevent one. Having seen what happened to Muammar Qaddafi, says Nasr, Iran’s leaders worry that foreign powers would “feel safe enough to interfere in the affairs of a non-nuclear-armed state.”
This is the kind of thing Ron Paul presumably had in mind when he said Iran may want nuclear weapons in order to get some “respect.” But hey, what does Ron Paul know?
The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan adds at The Daily Beast:
One of the key things that Ron Paul has contributed to our discourse is the notion that we should try and look at conflict from the point of view of our foe. You’d think this would be obvious if we are attempting to influence, say, Iran’s behavior, to understand their fears, their baseline interests and their ideology. So far, all we hear about is their ideology. But let’s broaden our moral imagination in ways not allowed in the Washington Post.
Imagine that three scientists working on the US nuclear arsenal were assassinated in the streets of Chicago or Washington or Los Angeles by agents of Iran. Now imagine that an explosion took place at one of our nuclear facilities – also engineered by Iran. Also imagine that Iran was capable of blockading US ports to cripple the US economy. Imagine the dollar collapsing because of this and a new depression initiated. What do you think Mitt Romney would be saying? I suspect he would be saying that Iran has already declared war on the US.
But all these things have happened in Iran, probably by the hands of Israeli intelligence, perhaps by the US, or some combo of the two. Is it surprising that the Iranians are throwing rhetoric around, even if much of it is empty? Of course not.

Ron Paul Campaign Announces South Carolina TV Ad ‘Betrayal’ Aimed at Santorum
Hard-hitting television, Internet ad argues that Washington insider Rick is an untrustworthy serial hypocrite on spending and right to work
LAKE JACKSON, Texas – The Ron Paul 2012 Presidential campaign announced today its new ad ‘Betrayal’ aimed at Rick Santorum. The ad will begin airing on Monday, January 9th on television in the key early voting state of South Carolina. In addition, the campaign has arranged for internet promotion on websites where conservatives congregate.
‘Betrayal’ exposes Rick Santorum as another serial hypocrite in the vein of Newt Gingrich, showcasing the former U.S. Senator from Pennsylvania’s record of duplicity on issues such as spending – including raising the debt ceiling – and insider lobbying. The ad also features Santorum’s appalling record on right to work, an issue dear to South Carolina residents but one of pivotal importance right now due to the NLRB-Boeing dispute. The ad also includes Rick Santorum’s now-infamous confession that he is, in his own words, “no longer a deficit hawk.”
“Ron Paul can come to South Carolina with a clear conscience and an impeccable record on the issues important to voters there: fiscal restraint, right to work, and strict adherence to the Constitution and one’s own promises. In addition, Dr. Paul has support from many of our armed services men and women,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
“This ad showcases the real Rick Santorum and it’s the reason why Santorum should be leery of competing in the ‘First in the South’ Republican primary, and it is why we hope for a strong, competitive showing in the Palmetto State,” added Mr. Benton.

Ron Paul Wins GOP Straw Poll in Delegate-Rich Idaho
Handily defeats competitors in the Gem StateLAKE JACKSON, Texas – 2012 Republican Presidential candidate Ron Paul easily beat his competitors in the Idaho state Republican Party’s first-ever public presidential straw poll. Paul earned 173 of the 399 votes cast statewide, followed by Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich, Rick Santorum, and Jon Huntsman who earned 135, 47, 40, and 4 votes, respectively.
The straw poll was held at the Riverside Hotel, located in Boise. The Idaho Republican State Central Committee recently moved its voting contest to March 6th—Super Tuesday—and will nominate candidates using a county by county caucus system. Idaho has 32 delegates at the 2012 Republican National Convention, more than Iowa, New Hampshire, and Nevada.
“Ron Paul has a tremendous support base in the oft-overlooked but important state of Idaho. This straw poll win is a positive early indicator that as we focus even more on Pacific Northwest contests, Idaho will stand out as one of the states where Ron Paul has a competitive edge over his establishment competitors,” said Ron Paul 2012 National Campaign Chairman Jesse Benton.
Full results of the straw poll are as follows.*
Ron Paul – 173
Mitt Romney – 135
Newt Gingrich – 47
Rick Santorum – 40
Jon Huntsman – 4
[*Rick Perry’s campaign requested he not appear on the ballot.]
