I don't always agree with Quanell X I feel that many of his issues are
self serving. I heard him talk on a local radio talk show about an hour
before the service and a lot of people in that area are pissed that this
was an illegal who had repeatedly returned to Houston. I think I'm on
the same page as him on this one.

I got the chance to meet Quanell X at the service. Afterwards he asked
for my number and said he'd be calling me. He has yet to call and I'm
not holding my breath. The vigil was about Shatavia and I was definately
an outsider so it wasn't my place to push an anti-illegal statement on
them.

This happened in Sheila Jackson Lee's district and I hold her just as
responsible as Bill White, Anise Parker and Rick Perry.

Dear Mr. "Def":

I appreciate your sharing your input with me. Illegal immigration is just that––illegal. I understand the need for immigration reform, but a true solution is only available when our federal laws and enforcement efforts are brought to bear on the issue.

I do, however, support the Secure Communities program which has been implemented in our jails as a first step to stemming the problem.

Ultimately, illegal immigration has to be stopped at our borders. But, I also know that there are no simple answers to the totality of the problem.

Mayor Parker,

Thank you for your response to my email about Shatavia Anderson.

I believe the Secure Communities program is a step in the right direction but it
failed in this case and cost a young girl her life. Deportation doesn't work when
we have porous borders. I understand as mayor it is not your responsibility to
secure our border. However that coward Melvin Alvarado repeatedly returned to
the Houston area and you must ask yourself why.

When I can drive by any of several places in the Houston area and see illegals brazenly
soliciting on street corners with no fear of police or legal intervention then there is a
problem with the system.

When the Mexican Consulate can hand out matritcula ID cards openly without verifying
a person's true origin and to aid illegals then there is a problem.

When illegal gang banger wannabe's can chase down and murder an innocent 14 yr old
girl there is a problem.

More must be done to protect us, our children and our communities.

I played bagpipes at Shatavia's memorial vigil last Friday ...<snipped>


...Understand Mayor Parker, I am angry at our political system for failing to protect it's
citizens and especially it's children. An illegal alien criminal preditor such as this should
never have been allowed to live among us in the first place. Please do what is necessary
to see to it that I never have to play my pipes for another innocent victim again.
