CHATHAM COUNTY, Ga. —A Chatham County jury indicted two men in connection with a deadly hit-and-run that prosecutors say killed 14-year-old Marcus Anderson in Chatham County in December.

The teen, who was riding an electric bike, was hit and killed in the area of Glade Street and Ferguson Avenue around 7 p.m. Police say Anderson was found in the roadway with severe injuries and later died.

CCPD detectives arrested 32-year-old Castro Miguel Reyes and 29-year-old Olvin Antonio Ramos just days after the hit-and-run. Both have been booked into the Chatham County Detention Center.

The indictment charges Reyes with Homicide by Vehicle in the First Degree, Hit and Run, and Tampering with Evidence. Ramos is charged with Tampering with Evidence, according to the court filing.

What the indictment alleges
Prosecutors allege Anderson was killed after Reyes failed to stop after the crash. A separate count alleges vehicle damage was concealed the day after, court records show.

Van tied to crash, affidavit says
The affidavit identifies 2012 Chevrolet van investigators believe was involved. Police say the van was detected by a license-plate reader system on the day of the crash. Investigators later located the van on Tybee Island on Dec. 29, 2025, the affidavit states.

Police wrote that the van appeared to have damage consistent with the collision and that parts recovered from the vehicle matched debris collected at the scene. The affidavit also describes signs of recent repair work, including the use of zip ties and fresh paint on the bumper. The van was towed to police headquarters while investigators sought a warrant to search it, according to the document.

Interviews and alleged statements
The van was registered to Olvin Antonio Ramos, the affidavit says. Investigators interviewed Ramos-Ramos and Miguel Angel Reyes-Castro, who police said also drove the van at times.

According to the affidavit, Ramos told investigators Reyes called him on Dec. 28 to report a problem with the van and described striking someone. The affidavit says Ramos-Ramos provided details investigators believed would only be known by someone with direct knowledge of the crash, and it references surveillance video investigators said supported part of the account.

The affidavit says Reyes requested an attorney during his interview.
