Prosecutor: Middletown man accused in fatal Montgomery County crash sentenced to prison

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, Ohio —A Middletown man accused in connection to a fatal traffic crash in German Township last August has been sentenced to prison.

The crash happened on Aug. 5, when German Township police responded to a two‐vehicle traffic crash on State Route 4 between Eby Road and Butler County Line.

The crash involved an SUV and a passenger car that had hit head‐on. The driver of the car, later identified as Kelsey Elizabeth Slivinski, 24, was killed in the crash.

Cristian Jesus Villajuarez-Castillo, 20, was indicted on four counts related to the crash, including aggravated vehicular homicide and aggravated vehicular assault.

According to the prosecutor, eyewitness statements and other evidence determined the defendant was driving erratically before the crash.

The investigation also revealed the defendant has no driver's license, was driving in excess of 80 mph at the time of the crash, and was an undocumented immigrant living in the United States illegally.

On Friday, Montgomery County prosecuting attorney Mat Heck Jr. announced that Villajuarez-Castillo was sentenced to 15 years in prison after being found guilty on multiple charges.

Villajuarez-Castillo was also handed a lifetime driver's license suspension, was ordered to pay over $25,000 in restitution, and faces deportation after he completes his prison term.
