(Delavan, WI) – This morning, Volunteers for Nehlen acknowledged ALIPAC’s official endorsement of insurgent candidate Paul Nehlen. Nehlen is running to unseat 18-year incumbent Paul Ryan in Wisconsin’s 1st Congressional District. ALIPAC, or the Americans for Legal Immigration Political Action Committee, has earned national prominence for shedding light on the economic impact of illegal immigration, in particular the ways that American workers are affected. Their endorsement of Nehlen came yesterday afternoon.
“I’m pleased to have the endorsement of an organization that understands and draws attention to the realities that American workers are facing today,” said Nehlen. “A flood of damaging federal legislative policies and executive orders have put American manufacturing and industry, American jobs, and—very clearly—American workers at risk. My campaign is pleased to fight alongside ALIPAC on this crucial front.”
“Undermining American industries, jobs, and workers threatens the American economy. Open borders, expansion of visa programs, and crony international trade deals—these kinds of damaging policy initiatives have been great for my opponent’s personal bottom line. In fact, Paul Ryan’s campaign coffers are burgeoning, fed by those who want a steady stream of cheap, interchangeable labor from wherever they can get it.
“But what are his policies doing to American workers and their families? How are they supposed to survive in the face of the onslaught Paul Ryan has unleashed against them?” Nehlen asked. “You don’t make American manufacturing and industry profitable by selling out your own citizens. You don’t make the American economy stronger by doing so. Immigration policy matters, plain and simple. It’s not abstract. It has a direct impact on real, individual American citizens and their families. ALIPAC gets it. So do I.”
The ALIPAC endorsement is the second that Nehlen has received from an organization focused on immigration issues. Numbers USA, which offered its official endorsement in early April, has likewise established itself as a powerful voice for education on immigration as well as an advocate for common sense immigration policies that promote prudent national security and a flourishing economy.
