For peat sake! You can't turn your back on these people for a second.

I'll start hitting the phones, email, letters, etc.

Did someone let Lou Dobbs know? Maybe he can get it up on his show, so millions will see it.

I have made calls today and I have passed the word along for others to do the same. Do not forget the district offices to leave messages as well as Washington. Cover all bases.

    NC Senators Burr and Dole

I just got off the phone with both DC offices.

Burr's office says that Senator Burr is opposed to all forms of Amnesty and will work to strip the immigration language out of the defense bill.

Dole's office says that she has NOT issued a position on this situation yet.

On it. Calling, faxing, alerting talk radio.

Sen. Dole's office said they just found out about this last night so they have no public statement yet on this amendment, but are reviewing it and are aware of the amnesty in it & reiterated generally that the Senator opposes amnesty. I stressed that I hope she works to strip the amnesty from it etc.

    p.s.

Kathryn Lopez posted the following yesterday in the National Review Online (about Sen. Vitter's plan for the AgJobs amendment):

An aide to Senator Vitter alerted me to the amendment's return and says "It looks like amnesty for sure and Sen. Vitter intends to offer an amendment to strike this language when the supplemental hits the floor."

I've been having computer and connection problems for the past 2 days BUT I've been able to get tons of calls and faxes through and will continue this weekend faxing and voicemails. Will try and keep up with the info on here too (IF I can get this box to cooperate!)
