    Dear Mr. XXX,

I have not had the opportunity to review this specific legislation with the Governor. However, Gov. Hoeven's general stance on immigration is that we must seal the border and enforce our laws so that employers do not hire illegal aliens. Then, we need to develop a comprehensive plan to deal with illegal aliens in the country that does not provide amnesty.

Please let me know if this sufficiently answers your question. Thanks!

    Sincerely,

    Tessa Sandstrom

Just talked to Sen Cornyn's office. They are saying that the rumor of Sen Cornyn talking to Sen Reid is totally false and we can count on him for a "NO" vote tomorrow on cloture. Now we need to work on Hutchinson.

IMMIGRATION: Fiorina came out and said that she supports the DREAM Act, which would grant undocumented immigrants who were brought to the U.S. by their parents and have lived in the U.S. for most of their lives with a path to legalization and a chance to pursue higher education. "I do no believe that we can punish children who, through no fault of their own, are here living the American dream," said Fiorina, adding that she opposes "amnesty" for undocumented immigrants. Boxer called for comprehensive immigration reform, saying that Fiorina called such legislation a "distraction." She added that the DREAM Act is part of comprehensive reform.

Fiorina doesn't think the Dream Act is Amnesty.

Talked with Hutchinson's office this morning. They indicated that she was leaning toward SUPPORTING the Dream Act. Made it clear that this would alienate her voters.
