Dear Legislator:

Please pass the above bill before adjourning session. It is imperative that state agencies verify Legal Status of Public employees.


HB 1942 Verify Public Employee Legal Status/Funds

Requires each state agency, department, and institution, the University of North Carolina, the Community College System, and local political subdivisions of the state to verify, in accordance with the Basic Pilot Program administered by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, every employee's legal status or authorization to work in the United States prior to hiring the employee. Provides that by August 1, 2006, the governmental entities named shall take all steps necessary to participate in the Basic Pilot Program.

Please vote for this bill to protect the State of North Carolina. Your assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated and will be remembered at election time.

Sent an email to each of my 4 county Senators as follows..

Dear Senator (name),

I encourage and implore you to pass HB 1942:
"Verify Public Employee Legal Status/Funds",
before the end of the current session.

This bill is critical to ensuring illegal aliens,
and therefore possible terrorists, do not become an
embarrassment, and potential danger, to this great state
as a public employee.

Verifying legal citizenship is an obvious neccessity
and should not require indepth disscussion.

Again, please pursue the passage of this legislation
in a timely manner precursive to the end of this session.
