CDC Drops False Claim 30 hours after our release

Special thanks to each of you who helped circulate Friday's press release (Review Here) regarding the false information the CDC.gov website was broadcasting to the nation.

Approximately 30 hours after we put out a national press release, and about 9 hours after the first Coronavirus death in America from a community-spread case was announced, the CDC finally dropped the dangerous false language from their website.

While this should have been done weeks ago when community-spread in America was apparent, we are glad to have played some role in pressuring our government to stop lying about such an important issue.

The CDC appeared to not react until after we started tweeting complaints to major conservative news personalities on Twitter. (view here)

Please make a note that this change was not made until approximately 6 pm Eastern Time on Saturday, February 29, 2020.

The CDC.gov website (View Here) has now been changed from...

"This virus is NOT currently spreading in the community in the United States."

    to

"During the week of February 23, CDC reported community spread of the virus that causes COVID-19 in California (in two places), Oregon and Washington. Community spread in Washington resulted in the first death in the United States from COVID-19, as well as the first reported case of COVID-19 in a health care worker, and the first potential outbreak in a long-term care facility."

It is a real shame when the most authoritative government source of information is weeks behind the information online that activists can discern. (View an Example Here)

Our government needs to do a much better job to maintain trust and credibility during times of crisis. American citizens deserve accurate and timely information on issues that impact the security, health, and welfare of our families.

Thank you to all from the grass roots who helped turn up the pressure.
