Lightning Round In The States: Utah, Nebraska, and others

    Friends of ALIPAC,

We are in a very critical time early in the legislative process in the states where we need some victories.

We need strong activist deployment from the ALIPAC national network that applies targeted lobbying pressure.

Today we are going to work in the two states of Utah and Nebraska! Today we launch a "lightning round" where you will receive new lobbying targets and messages on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.

WHAT HAPPENS IN OUR TARGETED STATES THIS WEEK COULD DECIDE IF YOU WILL BE FIGHTING TO PASS IMMIGRATION ENFORCEMENT IN YOUR STATE OR IF YOU END UP TRYING TO STOP AN AMNESTY BILL IN YOUR STATE INSTEAD!

We need thousands of American patriots from all states to jump in and follow these simple instructions below.

    UTAH

Effort 1: WARNING Utah is trying to pass the first state level Amnesty for illegal aliens with Amnesty bills SB 60 and HB 116!

Back to Utah to stop Amnesty!

Flagship legislation of our new and improved version of Arizona's bill in Utah (HB 70) has passed the house with flying colors but now needs to pass the Senate.

AMNESTY WARNING: State lawmakers, including Utah Democratic Senator Luz Robles (UT-1), are trying to pass Guest Worker AMNESTY bills SB 60 and HB 116.

    Background Article
OUTRAGE: Utah State Senator is also public official for Mexico!
    http://www.alipac.us/article-6115-thread-1-0.html

    Step 1:

Craft your own brief distinct version of our sample message to the Utah State Senate...

"I'm calling to ask Senator ______ to oppose the illegal alien Amnesty bills SB 60 and HB 116. Utah already has a bad reputation across America for giving special driving permits to illegal aliens and I hope Utah will not become America's first AMNESTY State. Please pass the immigration enforcement bill HB 70 to protect American workers, students, taxpayers, and voters from illegal immigration and please reject Amnesty bills SB 60 and HB 116."

    Step 2:

Call as many members of the Utah Senate as possible to deliver your message by phone to lawmakers, staff, and voicemails.

Remember to call, call, call! Let's get the phones ringing off the hook in Utah's Senate today!

    Step 3:

    Follow-up in writing.

After your calls are made, follow up with a personalized written email, letter, or fax.

    NEBRASKA

Effort 2: According to the Nebraska Advisory Group's email alert...
    (see full alert at link)

"3 Immigration Enforcement Bills and 1 Sanctuary State Resolution will be heard in public hearing by the Judiciary Committee at the State Capitol Bldg 1445 K Street, Lincoln, Ne Room 1113 at 1:30pm on Wednesday March 2, 2011"

Step 1: Craft your own written and verbal version of our sample below...

"I am calling/writing to oppose Senator Brenda Council's Legislative Resolution LR39 that would make Nebraska an Amnesty State for illegal aliens. Illegal Immigrants should not receive Amnesty from any state including Nebraska! Please support LB48 by Janssen which is the the Illegal Immigration Enforcement Act. We need LB48 to help protect Nebraska workers, students, taxpayers, and voters from illegal immigration. Americans favor immigration enforcement over any form of amnesty more than 2 to 1. "

Step 2: Call, call, call and then write the members of the Judiciary Committee who will hear these bills on Wednesday.

I got Sen. Robles of Utah on her cell. She seemed surprised and taken aback but listened to talking points and said she gets message and will consider.

On the other hand, Sen. Davis, of Utah, whose cell I dialed, was quite rude when I answered honestly that I reside in VA. He said none of my business what they do in Utah. I politely but firmly reminded him that illegal immigration in any state affects ALL States, that we call them UNITED for a reason and therefore, also MY business. He replied that he did not care what I think or how I feel. He ONLY cares about getting votes, surprise, surprise.

I usually get that reply, that unless I live in that state, I have no legitimate input. Do any of you others have similar experiences?

I refuse to lie and tell them I live in that state, then you must give a legitimate address or county at any rate.

Phone numbers do not have their senatorial offices listed, only work, which is not their political offices and they will not take messages. Then, you might get state house offices, but that takes more calling time than necessary. Ditto for home phones and usually cells.

    Good luck, All
