ALIPAC Launches First Wave of Endorsements!

    Friends of ALIPAC,

Today, we are releasing our first wave of endorsements for Congress.

Our first building block will be to endorse the incumbent candidates, who have remained true to our issues after our 2006 endorsements.

Forty-nine candidates we endorsed in 2006 won their elections.

Forty-eight are running for reelection in 2008 because Congresswoman Deborah Pryce (R-OH) is retiring.

Please visit our candidate endorsement page and save it as a favorite page. You can also reach this page from the Announcements block near the center top of the homepage at www.alipac.us . Soon, this page will be advertised in banners at the top of each page at ALIPAC.

    ALIPAC's 2008 Endorsements for Congress
    http://www.alipac.us/modules.php?name=C ... age&pid=33

Our goals, with your help, will be to build our endorsement list to include as many pro-immigration enforcement candidates as possible over the next 40 days, while working to make sure we get as many people as possible to view our online endorsements.

In 2006, our endorsements were viewed over 20,000 times at ALIPAC.us so we have a high bar to raise!

    GOOD NEWS TO SHARE

An analysis of the candidates we endorsed and who won in 2006 tells us some very encouraging things.

One of the criteria we use to analyze incumbent candidate campaigns is the website BetterImmigration.com or Americans for Better Immigration (ABI), which is a project of our friends at NumbersUSA led by Roy Beck.

While their data is not the only information we use, we have a high degree of confidence in their Report Cards on immigration issues, which is based on the legislation votes of incumbents.

We are pleased to announce that a 2006-2008 comparison of ABI report cards tells us good things about the 49 winning candidates we endorsed in 2006.

You can review the ABI scores on the 2008 endorsements page. The score you see on the page are their 2006 scores and you can click through to see their current scores in 2008.

The four candidates we endorsed, who won to join Congress for the first time, all established a very high ABI scores in their first terms!

Representative Doug Lamborn (R-CO): First ABI Score B+
Representative Bill Sali (R-ID): First ABI Score A-
Representative Peter Roskam (R-IL): First ABI Score A
Representative Michele Bachmann (R-MN): First ABI Score A-

We are very excited to see these new Freshmen members of Congress, who we helped to elect, do so well for our cause in their first terms.

But, there is more good news!

Of the remaining 45 candidates we endorsed in 2006, 14 INCREASED THEIR ABI Scores!

The following incumbents we endorsed moved their high scores upward!

    14 Improving

Representatives Marilyn Musgrave (R-CO). Christopher Shays (R-CT), Cliff Stearns (R-FL), John Mica (R-FL), Tom Feeney (R-FL), Lynn Westmoreland (R-GA), Thomas Price (R-GA), Nathan Deal (R-GA), Geoff Davis (R-KY), Gene Taylor (D-MS), Deborah Pryce (R-OH), Louis Gohmert, Jr (R-TX), John Culberson (R-TX), James Sensenbrenner (R-WI)

    27 Staying Strong

Twenty Seven of those we endorsed who won maintained their high ABI Scores of A or B!

Unfortunately, 4 of those we endorsed had slight declines in their ABI scores.

    Representatives:
    Wally Herger (R-CA): 2006 ABI A- / 2008 ABI B+
    Brian Bilbray (R-CA): 2006 ABI A+ / 2008 ABI A-
    Peter DeFazio (D-OR): 2006 ABI B+ / 2008 ABI B
    Bob Bishop (R-UT): 2006 ABI A- / 2008 ABI B

The evidence is clear. Those candidates who received ALIPAC endorsements in 2006 are doing well and moving further in our direction!

Now, here is what you can do to help.

    1. Enter the 2008 endorsements page and click on the candidates' names to access their websites. Then write them explaining that you are supporting candidate X because of ALIPAC's endorsement, their strong stance against Amnesty and illegal immigration, and their high ABI scores.

Consider mentioning that their ABI scores have improved or declined. Please warn those with declining ABI scores that you still support them but if the trend continues and their ABI scores continue to decline they will lose your support!

For each message or call you direct at these campaigns, you will increase the attention and concern level they have about their rankings at ABI (Americans for Better Immigration) and their endorsement from ALIPAC.

    2. Consider making a donation to, and or volunteering on the campaigns we endorse in your area. Donations should be mailed directly to the campaign HQ, with a note explaining that you are supporting them because of ALIPAC, their ABI scores, and their strong stances against amnesty, etc...

Volunteers who work on campaigns while explaining to candidates and other campaign workers that they are present because of the illegal immigration issue speaks louder than money!

These candidates, and the others we will endorse soon, need to hear from you, they need your votes, and they need your financial and volunteer support!

Let's all pull together as a national team and do our best to make 2008 a success!

This is very helpfull. I am just now starting to research all candidates that are up for election in the general election in November in Texas. There are numerous judges as well as state legislators that I need to get the low down on.

Certainly hope so. Looks like Barletta may make it, hope Chaffetz does, and if Hunter wins we'll be up one.

IMHO, you may want to give Sen. Landrieu another look.

That would be great. Now do you think the good folks of California could get his dad to run for Gov.?

I think you should also look closely at Representative Dean Heller of Nevada.
