Trump Tweet Misleads America About New Border Surge Caused By His Push for DACA & Amnesty Legislation

Following yesterday's White House press conference announcing a redux of ineffective Obama and Bush-era National Guard deployments to the border, President Trump tweeted today--

The Caravan is largely broken up thanks to the strong immigration laws of Mexico and their willingness to use them so as not to cause a giant scene at our Border. Because of the Trump Administrations actions, Border crossings are at a still UNACCEPTABLE 46 year low. Stop drugs!

Unfortunately for Americans who value the truth, honesty from elected officials and candidates, and accurate assessments of matters of national importance such as illegal immigration and border security, Trump's comments were in direct contradiction to his own DHS Secretary's comments made during the April 4 White House briefing on the border. At the 3:40 mark in this video, DHS Secretary Kirstjen M. Nielsen says, "We've recently seen the number of illegal crossings rise from 40-year lows last April back to previous levels!"

The Washington Times Reported yesterday--

Illegal immigration across the southwest border surged 200 percent in March compared to the same month last year, according to Homeland Security statistics released late Wednesday that back up White House’s claims that things are quickly deteriorating on the border. The year-over-year surge is by far the largest in the records, which date back to 2011, and it could be a signal that the Senate’s debate on legalizing illegal immigrants earlier this year has sparked a new wave of migration.

Numerous other media and border sources all confirm there is a new large surge of illegal aliens on the southern border of the U.S. and Trump himself admitted that his DACA program and push for DACA legislation is responsible for the new surge in a Tweet on April 1, 2018, he said, "These big flows of people (illegals) are all trying to take advantage of DACA. They want in on the act!"

"I'm really surprised that President Trump would try to mislead Americans and falsely claim illegal border crossings are still at a 40 year low like last year when Americans and smugglers alike thought he was serious about his campaign promises to crack down on illegal immigration," declared William Gheen, President of ALIPAC. "We've witnessed and documented increases in illegal immigrant crossings that accompany each push for legislative Amnesty by Presidents Obama and Bush since 2004. The current surge of illegal arrivals and caravans rival or surpass Obama's historic high levels and are a direct result of Trump's advocacy for a 'Deal on DACA' Amnesty instead of the mass deportations he promised during his campaign. Trump has sacrificed his credibility with both large sections of his base as well as illegal immigrants and the drug smuggling cartels bringing them in."

ALIPAC is asking activists to call the White House to demand formal military troops be deployed to the border with authorization to actually repel illegal immigrants and incarcerate illegals at the border for prompt hearings and deportations to uphold Article 4 of the U.S. Constitution which requires the government to protect all states from invasion.

ALIPAC opposes the Trump administration's efforts to persuade the U.S. Senate to drop the filibuster rule that prevented Trump's Amnesty legislation from passing in 2018, Obama's Dream Act Amnesty from passing in 2010, and Bush's Guest Worker Amnesty from passing in 2006 and 2007! Furthermore, it appears that President Trump is trying to use the new border crisis he has created by pushing for Amnesty for millions of illegal aliens to demand Congress pass more legislation that is likely to contain Amnesty.

By falsely blaming Congress for the Executive Branch policy of only catching and releasing illegal immigrants into the interior of the U.S. where they have no fear of America's existing immigration laws or law enforcers under Trump's command, the Trump administration is trying to parlay citizen concerns about his catch and release program into a new attempt to pass legislative Amnesty for illegal aliens and DACA recipients in Congress.
