Groups Support NC HB 10 to stop illegal alien felons
Groups Support NC HB 10 to Stop Democrat-backed Illegal Alien Felons
For Statewide & National Release | Feb. 23, 2023
(Raleigh, NC) Four groups fighting against illegal immigration spoke in support of North Carolina Rep. Destin Hall's (R-Caldwell, Watauga) HB 10 "Require Sheriffs to Cooperate with ICE." bill in the J2 committee on Feb. 22 in the hopes the legislation will stop Democrat lawmakers and Sheriffs from providing sanctuary policies for illegal aliens who commit felonies.
HB 10 reinforces existing state laws that require NC Sheriffs to check the citizenship and immigration status of people detained for felonies and to honor holds on prisoners placed by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
The legislation is deemed necessary by Republican lawmakers because newly elected woke Democrat Sheriffs in NC's most populous counties like Wake and Mecklenburg (Raleigh & Charlotte) have been refusing ICE holds and releasing dangerous illegal alien felons where they go on to evade justice and victimize more innocent American citizens. The Democrat Sheriff of Mecklenburg County, Garry L. McFadden, sent a letter to lawmakers opposing HB 10 while Rockingham Sheriff Sam Page spoke at the meeting in favor of the bill.
The four organization speakers supporting Rep. Hall's HB 10 at the NC General Assembly were William Gheen of Americans for Legal Immigration PAC (ALIPAC) (View Video HERE), James Johnson of NC FIRE, Chris Storie of Advocates for Victims of Illegal Alien Crimes (AVIAC), and Gil Pagan of Hispanos del Sur. ALIPAC has stopped in-state tuition, driver's licenses, and sanctuary bills in NC and 30+ states since 2004. On October 05, 2011, Chris Storie was severely injured, and her brother Joe Storie was killed by a drunk driving illegal alien. (Full Story HERE)
Those opposing HB 10 in support of illegal alien felons on the Judiciary 2 committee were the NC ACLU, El Pueblo, and Democrat lawmakers Reps Laura Budd (Mecklenburg), Rosa Gill (Wake), Deb Butler (New Hanover), and Marcia Morey (Durham).
NC House Bill 10 passed the Judiciary 2 committee and now heads to the Rules Committee, where it will hopefully pass and go to the floor for a full vote by the NC General Assembly.
North Carolina's woke Democrat Governor Roy Cooper has vetoed this legislation twice before, but now Republicans may have enough votes to override his veto this year if there is enough grassroots public support for HB 10.
"We call on Americans to push back on every level of government against Democrat plans to facilitate illegal immigration, non-citizen voter fraud, censorship, and dangerous illegal alien felons who deprive US citizens of equal protection, life, liberty, property, and the pursuit of happiness," said William Gheen, Spokeman and founder of ALIPAC.
ALIPAC is asking NC lawmakers also to consider legislative efforts in 2023 to remove felonious non-citizen and illegal immigrant voters from North Carolina voter registration files and elections.
