Too serious and why give them the publicity!!!

I feel like this might fall into the "too serious" category...You are definitely going to get those remarks from the other side of this issue. They are going to say "it's just a movie" and "you are trying to make an issue out of nothing". Unfortunately, i agree to a point. I know that all movies are meant to really send an issue and that if we let films like this and the message it might mean to intend, become more mainstream we are opening ourselves up to propaganda, and perhaps encouragement. But, I have seen ALIPAC, seem to stretch the meaning of issues a couple of times to stir up their base, and while the left (we know) does this constantly, this is one of the things that turns the more middle of the road people away from groups like this, and what lets the liberal media paint bad pictures of groups like this.

I feel like the real issues and real problems that are happening here are more than enough to stir people up and get them interested in what is going on,that we don't need sensationalism or over-exaggeration to sell our beliefs and points.

Anyone that reads my comments on here knows that I am an avid believer in what Alipac does, but when groups do this sort of thing it makes me shy off a little. I want to be able to talk about this group and send people to this site that i think might have an open mind on issues i care about , and this might turn them off from it, thinking that Alipac takes every little thing and makes it issue instead of focusing on the really important ones.

You might disagree but that is just my opinion.

Somehow I could not find video when I opened youtube link. I did however see it on Red Eye late at night a few days ago.

Speaks for itself. The concept of violence seems to go out the door unless your attributing it to TPP grand-mothers waving American flags.

Wonder how much play that vid would have gotten if TPP were shown with machetes doing their thing?

The best thing that we can do is ignore this piece of garbage movie and give it NO publicity because that is what the producers want, lots of controversy and lots of publicity and lots of $$. Like minded Americans will see it for what it is. I simply make the choice that it doesn't exist.

You can still find it if you do a search, but the ones with the most hits have been yanked by FOX TV

Copycat crimes -- What happens when criminals take a cue from violent movies like "A Clockwork Orange," Taxi Driver," and "Robocop 2"
    By Tim Purtell | Jan 27, 1995

When life imitates art the results can be deadly. While Natural Born Killers restored Oliver Stone's reputation, it also triggered Nathan Martinez allegedly to shoot and kill his stepmother and half sister after seeing the film at least six times. Later, Martinez, who had shaved his head and wore granny glasses a la NBK's Mickey Knox, reportedly told a friend, ''It's nothing like the movies.'' The incident recalls other crimes first committed on screen, then off.

A Clockwork Orange (1971) Criminal Act: Young hoodlums rape and bludgeon a woman while one sings ''Singin' in the Rain.'' Copycat Crime: British youths raped a young woman while singing ''Singin' in the Rain,'' leading director Stanley Kubrick to ban the film from being shown in Great Britain.

Magnum Force (1973) Criminal Act: A pimp forces a prostitute to drink Dr ano. Copycat Crimet:: Claiming the film inspired them, William Andrews and Pierre Dale Selby forced five people to drink Drano during a holdup before shooting all five, killing three.

*Taxi Driver (1976) Criminal Act: A Vietnam vet plots to assassinate a presidential hopeful. Copycat Crimet:: John Hinckley shot President Ronald Reagan to impress Taxi Driver costar Jodie Foster.

First Blood (1982) Criminal Act: A Vietnam vet sets booby traps to escape from redneck cops. Copycat Crimet:: Richard Miller allegedly shot and killed his former boss, reportedly after seeing the movie approximately 20 times. A psychologist at Miller's trial testified, ''He believes Rambo gives us approval to kill people.'' He was found not guilty by reason of insanity.

RoboCop 2 (1990) Criminal Act: A drug lord slashes a man's torso. Copycat Crimet:: Nathaniel White, who slashed the first of his six murder victims, said that he did ''exactly what (he) saw in the movie.''

Interview With the Vampire (1994) Criminal Act: Vampires bite necks through the ages. Copycat Crimet:: Daniel Sterling allegedly stabbed his girlfriend seven times and then sucked her blood after the couple had seen the film. He reportedly said he ''doesn't blame the movie'' but admitted to being ''influenced'' by it (yet he still maintains his innocence).

I quit going to movies years ago when they started going up on the price and down on the quality. There are very few movies worth spending that kind of money on, and this movie is a perfect example of the garbage that is spewing out of CA, the bankrupt state (or any other movie-making state or country)!!

I would not waste my money or time on this movie or giving it the time of day, and I don't know anyone who would want to see this or would waste their time or money on it either, exept unparented, unsupervised children. We can turn the TV news on and see the same kind of sex and violence along our borders and in our big sanctuary cities, thanks to a government that encourages, panders and caters to open borders, demanding, street-marching, Mexican flag-waving illegals and their enabling supporters and this kind of movie trash...and does nothing to stop it!!

The actors who continue to make these movies should be shunned, banned and shamed for wallowing in this kind of disgusting, degrading and anti-American tripe!! It is Americans who have allowed this kind of trash to escalate into our cities and homes, and it will have to be Americans who tell the greedy, depraved porno movie-makers and their celebrities, enough is enough, and stop providing them the attention and funds to continue!!!!

For anyone forwarding the trailer, I would suggest adding the following: WARNING, "MACHETE" IS A DEGRADING SESSPOOL OF EXTREME VIOLENCE, FOUL LANGUAGE, PORNOGRAPHIC, ANTI-AMERICAN, PRO-ILLEGAL CONTENT AND UNSUITABLE FOR ALL AMERICANS OF ALL AGES.....JUST LIKE ALL OF THE OTHER MOVIES ON THE MARKET TODAY!!!

I think worrying about this qualifies as a tempest in a teapot.

No group on either side of the immigration issue is going to mistake a Robert Rodriguez film for a social treatise. He is a director of slasher films and has never done anything remotely political (or remotely good, for that matter).

Post it on other sites, email it to your friend, just get the word out. The more people aware, the better.
