    Just sent an email to Sen. Homeboy. Why do people find English easy to speak? There are two major language groups in Western European civilization. The Latin languages- spreading east and west from Italy. And the German ones-spreading out from the Baltic Sea area. These two language groups converged in the British Isles, so English contains elements found in all Western European languages, except the Gaelic and Basques ones. Plus, it has shorter versions of the older words. Plus, English is on the radio all over the world, frequently in the form of popular songs with phrases that are easy for people to acquire. That is why it is such a common language. It is the European People's language.
