    30 Days

Watching this show did not change my mind one bit. I really don`t think that it`s fair by showing one sympathetic families side and not showing, (1) the true impact(s) being made on us, the people. (2)Without showing before and after pictures of communities and properties taken over and run down by them.(3) By showing the amount of illegals immigration populating our schools and in state prisons.(4) By showing how many Laws they (knowingly and intentionally) continue to violate once their over here, let it be, housing laws, Driving laws or labor laws, let alone the lack of respect or appreciation they have or show for this country.
In other words: It would take at least a 2 week documentation to show 1/2 of the down side on Illegal Immigration.

The ones that may change their minds are : the ones that don`t know all 5 sides of the story.:the ones that are not directly affected by illegal immigration(yet): The ones that have money to throw around: The ones that benefit by cheap labor:

Sorry: i have to cut this short because the more truth I type the more pissed I get.
If anyone wants to add on, please do. We all know that there is plenty more to the story.

    After watching 30 Days...

My heart reaches out to this family. I want them to prosper and to have a better life.
Any American would have to be dead or have a heart of stone not to feel for this family. My heart was touched by this whole family, especially Armida. She is young and she has a desire to reach out for a better life. Full of hope for tomorrow.
    How can we not understand?

When I see what it was like for them in Mexico...I do understand why they don't want to go back. I know how hard things can be, I was a single mother trying to raise two children and I didn't even make $10 an hour. I understand their pain and also their hope for tomorrow that things will get better. I know that most Americans would agree.

But...I also know that if we were to allow this amnesty it would be the end of our country. Therefore, in the end we wouldn't be helping this family or the hundreds like them. We would in fact destroy our own country as well.
They said Americans want more money for the job they will do for less. Can't they understand that allowing these employers to drive down the wage will only continue to keep them "in the poor house?" They will never get out. Especially if they are free to do dirty business this way. S L A V E L A B O R ! ! ! And...eventually the same will happen to Americans. The employers will continue to hire cheap labor, those employers who are trying hard not to be a part of this, will have to or they will lose their business in the end... because they will not be able to compete. We need to help them in their own country. Why...Why...???
Why can you protest here, but not in your own country??? I wish you could see that you are just being used by YOUR government, by OUR government and by RACIST organizations for THEIR good.

The only winners in this would be greedy government and big corporations. Those in our government that want this amnesty bill to go through is not because they care about these people. They want open borders and free trade. There greed has rotted their heart...they only care about the power and wealth they will gain...and to hell with everyone else.

Even if 30 million illegal immigrants get amnesty ....there will be 250 million more to replace them. When is enough ...enough? We need to help them in their own country. We will NEVER be able to take in enough to help them.

They need to change their greedy and corrupt government. IT HAS TO START THERE. We need to change this one...they have betrayed this country...and need to be replaced.

Jak, understand your point, but I agree that all sides were not presented. One of the things that bothers me the most is everytime we hear about "reaching out for a better life", I have to ask, what have you done to change your own countries well being? If your country has a few percentage of "upper crust" rich, no middle income and mostly destitute people, wouldn't that trigger some movement to change that? Why come here and drag us down. (Boggles the mind, doesn't it?)

Do I have a cold heart? Maybe. One of the things I insist on doing before I get played by a TV show (and believe me...it was nothing more than a show) is to look at all the facts. If a person or family starts their life in another country as a "criminal", then they deserve to be treated the way they are. I have stated on several occassions that our immigration laws need to be ammended, making it easier to fill out forms, costs need to be consistent with applications, etc. But this doesn't excuse anyone from following the present laws. I think I am numb from the propaganda (a better way of life, do jobs Americans won't, etc) that illegals use because I know that none of them ever made an effort to become legal and know they don't have to. All they think they have to do is to march, use up resources (fortunately medicaid will no longer be one of them), and ignore the United States law of the land. Once I get clearly focused on that, stories like 30 days no longer affect me, or effectively explain why illegals insist on blurring the facts. Further, you don't see the illegals here in the stores and such that think they don't have to be cordial, or act very rude, throw trash on the ground, urinate in public, push you out of the way in Walmart with a shopping cart, etc. This type of behavour is real!

If the fight against Illegal Immigration is to be successful, it must first start with the facts. One families "show" of what it is they want to present (no matter how one sided) is not based in fact nor are they going to give you any of the facts that led to their current status.

Feeling sorry for a girl with dreams and desires of a better life...sure! But then reality sets in and we have to wonder, is this all their parents are teaching them? Is this the new set of morals that will become the norm? I hope not!

It might hurt people like Armida, but you have to start somewhere. Make them go through the process of at least documenting themselves, or whatever it takes to reverse what is becoming a "slave labor" environment. Make the illegals either go back and request entry along with everyone else on the list, reform the laws, or just give up and let America fall completely into tragedy as it is rapidly heading. Some form of punishment must be imposed on those who think they answer to no one!

Just my two...OK, twenty five cents worth...

I too agree that they need to stay in their countries and fight for change.

There are here now, and we see and hear the stories of how they want to change OUR political system to Socialism.

So, if they don't like they way our country is run, why are they here anyway? My guess, to tap into the perks.

I have no respect for people who do not try to change their own country for the better.

This show did exactly what it set out to do. I'm sorry but this was a bad move for the cause and is a PR problem.

Jak and novaman, I agree with both of you.

Each individual story can be heartbreaking...but the point is that they did not try to improve their own countries, and they are destroying ours by choosing criminal activity...coming in illegally, etc.

As far as the show goes, didn't the anti-illegal post here a few days ago re editing?

This is not the post I'm thinking of. It's a start. I'll keep looking.

I guess the only thing I was trying to say...is that those of us who are against illegal immigration are continually accused of being racist and having no compassion...just as Governor Arnold...used in his remark about being prejudice...because we want the borders closed???

We DO have compassion, but at the same time...THEY NEED TO GO HOME.
The life boat can't carry the whole world...or all will sink. It has to change in their country. THEY NEED TO PROTEST IN THEIR OWN STREETS AND CAUSE CHANGE IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY. I just don't understand why they think its okay to protest in our country and not in their own.

    Right, Jak,

    We DO have compassion,
And why can't we have compassion for our own, first? You and I both know that there are many Americans and LEGAL immigrants who need help, and can't get it. Those are the folk we should be having compassion for. IMO.
