    Who were the FIRST, PRO?? That's who I want to claim!!! But, I am descended from Scottish/Irish, English and French Huguenot so MAYBE I'm in the right groups!

    Bootsie- the Jews were the highest educated group - or most literate group- however maybe the person who wrote that forgot about the Huggenots- who came here so early that they got forgotten? cause they were also very highly literate.

    Whew, I feel much better now! They probably got here so early that there were no COUNTERS!!!! I have traced my ancestry back on ONE side to 1697 in Charleston. That was the French Huguenot branch.
