2 people still on run after 13 bail from vehicle during traffic stop

DEER TRAIL - Police have caught all but two people after a car full of possible illegal immigrants scattered into a field east of Deer Trail early Saturday morning.

The car was stopped by a state trooper on Interstate 70 at mile marker 330 around 6:30 a.m. for a possible traffic offense, according to a spokesperson with the Colorado State Patrol. During the traffic stop, 13 occupants fled from the vehicle into a nearby field.

CSP says the trooper called for assistance. Other troopers, a law enforcement helicopter and officers from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) were brought in to help search for the suspects. As of 11 a.m. Saturday, 11 of the 13 had been found and taken into custody, state patrol says.

The spokesperson says there is no reason to believe the two at-large suspects pose danger to the community and he was unable to provide a description of either person.

The names of the other possible illegal immigrants in custody were not released. The spokesperson says their immigration status is unclear and he was not sure whether they would face any charges.

They ran. Duh, do you think they might be running because they were late or maybe just illegal?

That's the problem. We DONT know if they are a danger to our citizens. An awful lot come here and are decent people, but an awful lot of the bad boys come right along with them. They can say they aren't a danger, but how the heck do they know? They can't know.

The spokesperson says there is no reason to believe the two at-large suspects pose danger to the community and he was unable to provide a description of either person.

They know nothing about these two. They just have "reason to believe". Is that good enough? That is just a pacifier as far as I'm concerned. Tell us and we believe it. Yea, right.

At least they retrieved 11 of them and have the names of the other 2.

Maybe they were hungry for breafast and saw a rabbit in the field.
