    2. In Connecticut and Utah, conventions are held by the political parties prior to the primary. In Virginia, parties may choose to nominate by convention rather than by primary election and the notification to request a primary must be made to the State Board of Elections by 3/15/06. In other states, such as Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, South Carolina, Texas and West Virginia, it is possible that minor parties may schedule conventions to nominate candidates. Convention dates are pending.

    3. In Louisiana, a Congressional primary election is not held. The election for candidates seeking federal office is the General Election scheduled for 11/7/06. If necessary, a Runoff Election will be held on 12/9/06.

    4. In Puerto Rico, the general election for Resident Commissioner to the U.S. House of Representatives is held every four years, coinciding with the U.S. Presidential election.

    Four states have a February primary filing deadline for Congressional candidates. These states are Indiana, Nebraska (non-incumbents have a March 1 deadline), North Carolina, and Ohio.

    Arizona's filing deadline for Republican and Democrat candidates for Congress is June 14.
