3 dead, 6 hurt in Detroit store shooting, police say

Detroit police say three people have died and six others are wounded in a gun attack in a retail district on the city's east side.

A police source told MyFoxDetroit.com that as many as nine people have been shot and three of those shootings are fatal, with a fourth in critical condition. Every available emergency unit is responding to the scene.

Police spokeswoman Kelly Miner said the shootings happened about 6 p.m. at Al's Barber Shop.

Police Chief James Craig told reporters at the scene that "suspects engaged a couple of victims" and says "several shots were fired."
