ACLU Furthering ‘Sanctuary City’ Protection for Illegals

Several weeks ago I had the privilege of testifying at the civil trial as a defense witness for the city of Hazelton, PA. The case resulted from a lawsuit filed by the ACLU in an effort to block the city of Hazelton from enacting ordinances that would penalize employers who knowingly hired illegal aliens and landlords who rented apartments to them. Clearly the federal government has attempted to avoid getting the job done, while merely providing the illusion that the job is getting done. More and more illegal aliens enter our country each and every day and among them are criminals and potentially, terrorists.

In an effort to do the job the federal government won’t do, some local governments have promulgated laws and regulations that would address this crisis, as did the Mayor of Hazelton and his town’s city council. These ordinances penalize employers of illegal aliens and landlords who rent rooms to aliens who are illegally present in the United States. Small American towns like Hazelton are attempting to push back the growth of the “Sanctuary Cityâ€
