ACTIVISTS! Stop the increases in foreign workers&amnesty

    From: Roy Beck, President, NumbersUSA
    Date: Sunday 17FEB08 4 p.m. EST

Congress needs to hear from you this week -- Stop the increases in foreign workers & amnesty

    DEAR FRIENDS,

Just when you think the Big Business Lobbyists can't be any more callous ...

At the same time as reports that we may be in an economic recession and that the job market is getting more and more difficult for Americans, the magazines, newspapers and airwaves are filled with op-eds, editorials and articles quoting the business leaders and lobbyists saying we must import more foreign workers!

Both the Democratic and Republican leadership of U.S. House and Senate are right now conspiring to bring legislation to the floor to greatly expand the pool of foreign labor in this country -- even as they talk about the need for taxpayers to provide more unemployment compensation for all the Americans who are losing their jobs.

This kind of insanity is nothing new.

And it will never slow down unless we as a Lobby of the People mobilize in massive fashion to put an end to it.

Please go to your NumbersUSA Action Buffet corkboard and make sure you have taken all the actions we have provided you to stand up against this latest effort of the Big Business Lobby to depress wages and foist major new subsidies upon the taxpayers.

I have been working full-time on these immigration issues since 1991. The Big Business Lobby and its well-compensated friends in Congress always use every upturn in the economy to cry for more foreign labor because of perceived shortages. But they never change their tune when the economy turns down. In every period of rising unemployment, the Big Business Lobby continues to cry about terrible worker shortages and always brings in hundreds of thousands of foreign workers during recessions.

Your NumbersUSA Capitol Hill Team has talked to a number of people who have been in high level Hill meetings where leaders of both Parties have expressed a desire during this time of economic turmoil to sneak through giant increases of H-1B visas for foreign tech workers, H-2B visas for foreign laborers, greencards for permanent foreign nurses and a five-year visa for 12-20 million illegal foreign workers and their dependents.

Friends, I know that all of this may seem too crazy to be true. But please believe me that that the worse our country's economic situation, the more your congressional leaders see a chance to give their corporate sponsors the huge foreign labor increases that the People's Lobby has been blocking the last several years.

Send your faxes immediately. Remember that Monday is a federal holiday. Wait to make your phone calls until Tuesday.

Congressional leaders hope you will be so busy worrying about your own jobs that you won't notice them giving away millions more through immigration increases.

    THANKS,
    Roy Beck

P.S. Like many of you, I suspect, I have been knocked for a loop the last couple of weeks with a respiratory flu that dodged whatever my flu shot was about. I am re-emerging and thank my staff for keeping the alerts flowing to you with links for the various faxes and phone action notes that they've been making available to you to protect the country from the open-borders lobbies. Basically, what seems to have happened is that the emergence of McCain, Clinton and Obama as the almost guaranteed group from which our next President will come has convinced congressional leaders of both Parties that the American people are willing to allow a continuation of the Bush open-borders policies that have been so detrimental to American workers and American communities for eight years.

Frankly, the Members of Congress must be jolted back to some sensibility. Only you can do that -- in conjunction with hundreds of thousands of others who make it clear that the American people have not let down their guard.

Please prove the lie of all the commentators who are now saying that the American people have changed their minds about immigration and are no longer interested in stopping the Big Business Lobby in replacing the American workforce with cheaper more compliant foreign labor.

This may be related, Greenspan thinks it will help our economy to knock down the salaries of white-collar workers by importing foreign competition for their jobs: http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent ... 69e5d.html

If you knock down their salaries, you knock down the ability of these workers to purchase homes, cars, goods, etc. and you known down their ability to support the 20 plus million illegal aliens and to sustain our economy. Somewhere this nonsense is going to catch up to these elites. Why should the wages of the American people have to equal those of third world nations? We will simply turn in to these countries with only corporations and businesses and their management profiting.

    Ephesians 4:32
    Matthew 19:26
But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible.

My understanding is that American consumer spending is around 70% of the engine that runs our economy. And now that the world is supposed to be 'flat' it also runs the economies that depend on selling us goods and services. Talk about killing the golden goose!

    Yeah,
This is the whole problem with globalism.
It isn't meant to make Americans more money, its meant to drive our economy down to the rest of the third world so they can buy the international corporations products. What it amounts to is they are sacrificeing 300 million Americans incomes so they can open up the market to the other 6 Billion people around the world that can't afford their products because the dollar is worth alot more than the third world currency. Bring down the American dollar to their level and all the sudden the whole world gets to be a customer. Its all in the math. This is one reason why the global conglomerates don't really want to upset the muslims by raising a stink about radical islam, they might lose a couple billion customers. Its the same reason they like illegal immigration, don't want to make any bad PR and lose a few dollars would we?. So you bring the highest standard of living down to the low standard instead of bring the low standard up to the high standard, its easier to wreck an economy where the global corporates can then buy up America and other rich nations assets below wholesale and at the same time get 4 or 5 billion more customers. Its called taking the low road while robbing everybody! Next time you hear globalism is good for America, just remember, its a lie.

Here is the common sense that tells you globalism is a lie.
We know who benefits from globalism, the international corporations and very few Americans. The Americans that do compete in the global marketplace are basically middlemen that buy from China and then sell to Americans or other countries. Or they make a really small niche product. Can we have 20 million niche products that other people all over the world want to buy? What happens when they get our niche product and replicate it and sell it for less than we can? Lets say after 30 years the globe is flat and everyone is equal and a dollar here is worth a dollar in China and If the world had one currency and everything was worth the same no matter where you are, which is what this economic re-adjustment is all about then wouldn't it be cheaper to buy the product from a company around the block than one half way across the world? If everything is equal there would be no use to by things from around the globe so what is the use in globalism? They say its to spread security and prosperity but doesn't it just make chaos in the long run? If everything is monetarily equal people aren't going to want to do business globaly because it will be more expensive wouldn't it? So, it seems to me the plan brings us back to full circle to where we were before globalism. People wanting to do buiness in their own communities because it will be most beneficial. In other words we are going to dismatle all of Americans manufacturing capabilities now just to have to rebuild them in the future. All while the international conglmerates and monopolies get fithy stinking rich. What a great world.
Unless we get those criminals & make them pay for what they have done to our country and the lawlessness they have sponsored, we are just another Mexico ourselves!

    the inevitable ppl dont matter

all the faxes and email are not gonna do the trick.

capitol hill listens to bill gates, ceo of cisco oracle etc. our opinion means squat.

we created these captialist heroes who put america on the forefront of technology..now they are saying things which is hard for us to digest.

we have been preaching the world about capitalism and globalism for the last 3 decades..we have been forcing countries to drop trade barriers ..we keep harping about free market..well free market says production should be at where it costs the least.

..well chickens come home to roost..we reap what we sow.

this needs a fundamental rethinking. american economists may be got it worng for all these years..i think americans have become addicted to an overpriced dollar...it is gonna take decades to get out of it.
