    Robert Novak: Bush against Romney

    http://www.townhall.com/columnists/Robe ... nst_romney

WASHINGTON, D.C. -- While President George W. Bush has maintained neutrality among contenders for the Republican presidential nomination, he privately expresses to friends his exasperation with Mitt Romney's hard-line stance on immigration.

Bush is upset that Romney changed his position on the issue, compared to what it had been when he was governor of Massachusetts, at the expense of the president's immigration reform. Bush and Sen. John McCain are not close, but the president is grateful for McCain's support on Iraq and immigration.

A footnote: The president's younger brother, former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, has not endorsed any presidential candidate. But he and his political allies were behind Romney's losing effort in last Tuesday's Florida primary.
I was planning on voting for Romney on Tuesday so this article is just icing on the cake. It sure sounds like Boosh is smarting from the Amnesty smackdown last summer and I love the mental image of Romney making him squirm.

    Whinner!

Bush is crying that the possible next guy is not going to be an SPP lackey!

His secret agenda will go down the drain, unless you elect McCain.

So right, Dixie! That's why Boosh was so anxious to pass immigration reform since the Congressional authorization he needed to accelerate those plans was hidden in the bills! I believe that the SPP was intended to be Boosh's legacy, but with a scheduled completion date of 2010 and failure to pass a bill, he is crying. I'm sure there are plenty of neo-con elites out there moving forward with that agenda!

Speaking of which, does everyone know that this authorization was also included in S. 1639: AgJOBS Act of 2007, sponsored by none other than our good friend, Senator Ed Kennedy, who was also responsible for including it in both of the comprehensive immigration reform bills earlier in 2007? They are trying like hell to get that authorization, which reads:

    (b) SENSE OF CONGRESS REGARDING PARTNERSHIP FOR PROSPERITY- It is the sense of Congress that the United States and Mexico should accelerate the implementation of the Partnership for Prosperity to help generate economic growth and improve the standard of living in Mexico, which will lead to reduced migration, by--

This bill is in the first stage of the legislative process where the bill is considered in committee and may undergo significant changes in markup sessions.
