Amnesty Groups Targeting These 3 GOP Senators

In case we missed this, I've posted the part of the following story that pertains to three Republican senators identified that the amnesty groups have "heavily courted" (link to full story below). Please call and fax them:

"GOP Sens. Richard Lugar of Indiana, George Voinovich of Ohio and Kay Bailey Hutchison of Texas all are believed to be open to immigration reform and are being heavily courted by advocates who want to see the system fixed, Hincapie said."

Thanks CR. I don't think it's too soon to call these three and others -- to let them know we are still watching this closely.

    Immigration reform lessens in priority

    By Michael Collins

WASHINGTON — Immigration reform advocates stood patiently in the background while the White House and Congress battled for a year over plans to redesign the nation’s health delivery system.

Now that healthcare reform is done, advocates have a message for President Barack Obama and federal lawmakers: No more delays. Get moving on immigration reform. Now.

We should have ALIPAC put out an alert then.

    Sending out this email:

Please do not support Amnesty for Illegal Aliens

    Dear Senator

Even after almost 16 months of the Obama administration the promise to secure our borders has not been met. Official statements from the Department of Homeland Security earlier this year indicated that the virtual fence was not working and that completion could be several years away. Other sources indicate funding for border control has been cut and does not seem to be a priority concern with this administration.

The Obama administration will halt new work on a "virtual fence" on the U.S.-Mexican border, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano announced Tuesday, diverting $50 million in planned economic stimulus funds for the project to other purposes."

Senator, when will we have a secure border? When will this promise be met? Maybe never, with the Obama administration. That is why Congress cannot, and should not, move ahead with any "comprehensive immigration reform" legislation this year.

We can not have an AMNESTY while an unsecured border encourages thousands more to cross and the flow of drugs, crime rings and weapons has not been curtailed.

    Sincerely,

    XXXXXXXXXXXXX
