Great weather here in the South!

    ALIPAC Team,

I hope the weather is as nice where all of you are as it is here. It is sunny outside and almost 80 degrees! Everything is starting to bloom.

Well just like I have told COI. Need to trade places with me. If not raining then snowing, If not snowing, then Raining. Don't know when I have seen sunshine. I guess it would be a good place to grow Mushrooms, cool and damp up here.

I'm going outside to lounge a bit and soak up some rays before the sun goes down.

I go ahead and rub it in. In Southern California today the weather is cold with rain in the forcast. I believe you stole our weather. I demand that you return it immediately.

It's freezing here, we got a late winter storm. It does that here, then all of the sudden, BAM!! it's spring and sunny out. We are a land, and people, of extremes in the Pacific Northwest.

    Tonights forecast SNOW!! BRRRRRRR.........

Great if you want to go up to Mt. Hood Ski Bowl, but I do not partake in killer sports!!

I don't want to hear any whining about lack of sun for a few days......I too live in Oregon and I can't remember the last l-o-n-g string of sunny days that we have had. When the sun does come out here, we all look to the sky, squint and ask "what the heck is that thing?!"

Here in the Northwest people get so excited about ANY sunny days they break out their shorts and suntan lotion right away, that's usually in April and you will see people running aroung in shorts and sunglasses like its California, and its only about 60 degrees.

Some say we have webbed feet here, but I think we all have thick skin. I can spot a Californian or Southerner a mile away in January. We all have on jackets with hoods, when I see people bundled up like we're in the arctic and using an umbrella I know they are not locals (LOCALS WOULD KNOW THAT THE STRONG EAST WINDS COMING OUT OF THE COLUMBIA RIVER GORGE, FROM ABOUT OCTOBER THROUGH APRIL, WILL JUST BLOW THE RAIN RIGHT ON YOU ANYWAYS).

Generally most people here run around in hooded sweatshirts and jeans most of the time, cause no matter what you wear, you will get wet all the way through!!!

Although I'm living in Georgia now, I've dealt with Portland weather and I know this time of year can be brutal. One winter I felt the wrath of Foster Road flooding and then freezing. It was like a skating rink on the street. My sympathies to you both.

It has flooded all too many times this winter. I suppose we will not be looking at a drought though!!

The Willamette was pretty high at one point, but did not reach as high as in 96. Many of the smaller tributaries did get over their banks, including Johnson Creek.

But to be honest, I'll put up with the rain and cold this time of year to know that the one thing we do not have here naturally, that you have in the south, I will not have to put up with, roaches!!!!

Yep, I'm no fool, I cannot stand the idea of those nasty critters running around my home and especially in my kitchen. My best friends daughter has gone down there to live and she said the first time one of those big nasty things went running across the floor, she just about died.

NO THANKS!!!!! Give me the wind and rain anytime!

However, all of our neighbors have brought in their own from Mexico though, the buildings are infested with them, we saw a couple after our American neighbor moved out and was promptly replaced with illegals, we forced our landlord to have pro's spray and so far have not seen anymore, but I know warm weather is coming.

Speaking of this "poor immigrants" subject that's going around, yeah, poor immigrants, they just pulled up out front in a brand new red Chevy SUV of some type, not even plates yet. Yep, those poor immigrants. I mean they must be green with envy over my 1986 Subaru with 240,000 miles on it!!!!! All of them here have brand new vehicles, but it must be really rough on them because they are soooooo poor.

I cannot imagine what it must feel like to be in those nasty new vehicles, they are so awful.

Sorry guys, we get a little rusty and gnarly around the wrong spots this time of year, it makes us a little snarly.

OK, enjoy your nice warm Southern weather, and your big old bugs!!!!
