I believe another valid way to view illegal immigration is to consider America as your family – and then answer some questions: Do you leave your home’s doors unlocked? If you do, and some uninvited stranger showed up in your house, would you simply accept him/her as part of your family forever – no questions asked? What if the person had brought his/her whole family and couldn’t earn enough money to meet their needs; would you volunteer the extra money? Would you pay for their food? Would you pay to send their children to school/college? Would you pay for their healthcare? If you didn’t have enough money to meet these extra expenses, would you demand your neighbors chip in? If you found out some of the newcomers were routinely committing crimes, even if only against your neighbors and not against you, would you allow them to continue to stay in your home?

A pathway to citizenship answers yes to all of the above questions! And you gotta ask yourself: If it doesn't make sense for your own home, why in the world would you want it for your country? I urge you to oppose “a pathway to citizenship” for illegal immigrants and demand that your congressman and senators do the same!
