Anti-hate group blamed for inspiring Family Research Council gun attack dumped by FBI

Anti-hate group blamed for inspiring Family Research Council gun attack dumped by FBI

    BY PAUL BEDARD |
    MARCH 26, 2014 AT 12:53 PM

Before the abrupt scrubbing, the FBI hate crime webpage included two outside groups as "resources."

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which has labeled several Washington, D.C.-based family organizations as "hate groups" for favoring traditional marriage, has been dumped as a "resource" on theFBI's Hate Crime Web page, a significant rejection of the influential legal group.

The Web page scrubbing, which also included eliminating the Anti-Defamation League, was not announced and came in the last month after 15 family groups pressed Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director James Comey to stop endorsing a group -- SPLC -- that inspired a recent case of domestic terrorism at the Family Research Council.

"We commend the FBI for removing website links to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that not only dispenses erroneous data but has been linked to domestic terrorism in federal court. We hope this means the FBI leadership will avoid any kind of partnership with the SPLC,” Tony Perkins, FRC President, told Secrets.

“The Southern Poverty Law Center's mission to push anti-Christian propaganda is inconsistent with the mission of both the military and the FBI, which is to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States,” he added.

The FBI had no comment and offered no explanation for its decision to end their website's relationship with the two groups, leaving just four federal links as hate crime “resources.” Neither eliminated group had an immediate comment.

SPLC has been a leading voice against hate crimes, and has singled out evangelical and traditional family groups as advocates of hate against gays. It has even gone after a local official, Loudoun County Supervisor Eugene Delgaudio, who also heads a group that promotes traditional, opposite sex marriage.

In August 2012, a Washington area man guided by the SPLC's "hate map" that cited FRC, entered the group's headquarters and shot a security guard. The guard survived and the shooter, a volunteer with a gay group, pleaded guilty to domestic terrorism.

In their letter, the 15 conservative groups argued that the FBI website's inclusion of SPLC as a resource "played a significant part in bringing about an act of domestic terrorism." It added, "It is completely inappropriate for the Department of Justice to recommend public reliance on the SPLC hate group lists and data. The links to the SPLC as a FBI ‘Resource’ must be taken down immediately, leaving only official, trustworthy sources listed on the agency’s webpage."

Joe Biden calls on Congress to pass gay rights bill

LOS ANGELES — Vice President Joe Biden called on Congress on Saturday to pass a measure to outlaw workplace discrimination against gays, saying it's outrageous that the country is even debating the subject.

Speaking to supporters of the gay advocacy group Human Rights Campaign on Saturday, Biden said it's "close to barbaric" that in some states, employees can be fired because of their sexual orientation or gender identity.

"Imagine 20 years from now as America looked back and say 'How in the hell can that ever been allowed?' The country's moved on, the American people have moved on," he said.

He said it was time for Congress to pass the Employment Non-Discrimination Act — known as ENDA — which would bar employers with 15 or more workers from using a person's sexual orientation or gender identity as the basis for making employment decisions, including hiring, firing, compensation or promotion. Religious institutions and the military would be exempted.

Biden also criticized Russia's ban on so-called gay "propaganda" and its military actions in Ukrainian territory.

"The great anti-Soviet dissident Andrei Sakharov said, 'A country that does not respect the rights of its citizens will not respect the rights of its neighbor.' And we're seeing that today in Ukraine," Biden said.

The Family Research Center, and those who still believe in The Bible, will come under more extreme attacks like this one if Joe Biden, Barack Obama, and all the Christian-Hating homosexuals and radical liberals get their way.

If you think about it, you may (or may not) also agree ..

Police are investigating what prompted A GAY TERRORIST to walk in to the lobby of the Family Research Council, a conservative policy organization, on Wednesday morning and open fire, wounding a security guard.

The guard helped wrestle the gunman to the ground. Called a hero by police, the security officer was in stable condition after being shot in the arm.

A law enforcement official said the gunman made some remarks opposing the Family Research Council's policies before opening fire. He is now in custody, but has not been formally charged, the FBI said.
The suspect was identified as Floyd Corkins, 28, of Herndon, Virginia, the law enforcement official told CNN. Although not necessarily gay himself (who cares) the man was CLEARLY influenced by the GAY PROPAGANDA disseminating out of mainstream media outlets who FALSELY, MALICIOUSLY AND DISREPUTABLY called this fine organization a HATE group based on DISHONEST charges made by the FAR left group the Southern Poverty Law Center.

A backpack and a vehicle believed to belong to the suspect were recovered, the official told CNN, adding federal charges are likely to be brought.

The suspect's weapon was a legally obtained 9mm handgun, according to another law enforcement official. The suspect had obtained the weapon "fairly recently" from a gun shop in Virginia.

The shooting occurred about 10:45 a.m. in the lobby of the headquarters of the council.

Conservative-Hating Southern Poverty Law Center Removed From FBI’s ‘Hate Crimes’ Resources

March 26, 2014 by Sam Rolley

The Southern Poverty Law Center, which has a long history of unfairly labeling right-of-center groups as “hate organizations,” has reportedly been removed from the FBI’s “resources” section on the agency’s Hate Crime Web page.
The FBI didn’t comment on the removal, which also included the scrubbing of a link to the Anti-Defamation League. But the timing suggests that a letter recently sent to Attorney General Eric Holder and FBI Director James Comey by a coalition of family groups had something to do with the removal.
The family rights groups, which included the Family Research Council (FRC) and American Family Association (AFA), contended in the letter that SPLC was responsible for inspiring a domestic terror attack on FRC’s Washington, D.C., headquarters.
Personal Liberty Digest™ reported on the investigation of the attack last April:
The Southern Poverty Law Center has built a legacy around pointing out instances of hate and dangerous extremism in the United States. As times change, however, so do those examples of hate and extremism; but many people have suggested in recent years that the SPLC has lost its way in keeping up with those changes and simply moved to cry “hate” in the direction of any group out of line with its left-leaning philosophy.
The validity of such criticism is perhaps more evident than ever in the case of domestic terrorist Floyd Corkins II, which has been largely ignored by the mainstream media.
Corkins carried out a shooting attack on the Washington, D.C., headquarters of the conservative Family Research Council last year. Upon entering the building posing as an intern, the man opened fire on security guards, wounding one, before being wrestled to the ground. Had his plan not been thwarted early on, a much grislier scene would have unraveled, as the perpetrator reportedly planned to maim and kill as many people in the building as possible before smearing their faces with Chic-fil-A sandwiches he carried with him as a political statement.
Corkins has since pleaded guilty to an act of armed terrorism and assault with intent to kill.
Earlier this year, it was reported that Corkins made the decision to attack FRC based on their designation as an anti-gay hate group by the SPLC. The report was largely disregarded by mainstream media outlets and bears mention again because the FBI released video of the interrogation that revealed the connection for the first time this week.
“Southern Poverty Law lists, uh, anti-gay groups,” Corkins told agents who asked how he found the organization. “I found them online — did a little research, went to the website, stuff like that.”
In an interview with Washington Examiner’s Paul Bedard, FRC President Tony Perkins said he was pleased by the removal.
“We commend the FBI for removing website links to the Southern Poverty Law Center, an organization that not only dispenses erroneous data but has been linked to domestic terrorism in federal court. We hope this means the FBI leadership will avoid any kind of partnership with the SPLC,” Perkins said.
“The Southern Poverty Law Center’s mission to push anti-Christian propaganda is inconsistent with the mission of both the military and the FBI, which is to defend and uphold the Constitution of the United States,” he added.
AFA President Tom Wildmon said that the SPLC’s work defending the civil rights of minorities provided for the common good. But added that the organization’s attacks on Christians who disagree with the LGBT community indicates that the organization has “lost their reason to exist” and is trying to find hate where there is none.
“To have the FBI disassociate itself with the Southern Poverty Law Center is an excellent move on their part,” he said. “American Family Association, [along with] the Family Research Council, has been slandered, quite frankly, by this SPLC group as a hate organization.”
“We have strong stands on moral issues, including marriage and life and those kinds of things, but we are not and never have been a hate group,” Wildmon added. “We’ve been unfairly labeled that by the Southern Poverty Law Center.”
