DENVER — Anti-Trump protests outside the Colorado Convention Center turned violent as presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump spoke inside to a crowd at the Western Conservative Summit.

At least three people were arrested after protesters began pushing and shoving outside the venue, home of the three-day conservative conference, according to 9News Denver.

Jeff Hunt, director of the Centennial Institute at Colorado Christian University, warned attendees about the melee after Mr. Trump spoke to the gathering inside for about an hour.

“I do want to make a very important announcement about what is happening outside right now,” Mr. Hunt said. “There are protesters out there, there are arrests, there are fights taking place. I want you to be very careful.”

Several hundred demonstrators descended outside the convention center prior to Mr. Trump’s speech, which focused on his economic plan, terrorism and opposition to Obamacare.
