I just don't agree with the part about everyone should join corporate America. Seems like this would be just what the "elites" want us to do.
What happened to American ingenuity? American craftsmanship?
If we all belong to "Corporate America" then we are just giving up the freedoms that this country was founded on and furthering the New World Order....
Not trying to start a fight here just didn't like this quote:
I made a choice years ago to work for myself doing a job that is now classified as a job that an American won't do. I never expected to get rich doing this job but i made a very comfortable living and was good at what i did. In todays market i am still able to find work but the problem is that i am making the same amount per job now as what i made 13 years ago. The only reason for this is the glut of an illegal workforce that for some reason our government allows to exist in this country that are able to have 20 man crews that all live together and pay no taxes/compensation insurance etc. Its not a matter of thinking that i am better than anyone else I just don't know much of anything else and at my age its awfully hard to go out and take an entry level position/wage.then to remain in business just because you think you are better than the rest of usImmigration reform should reflect a commitment to enforcement, not reward those who blatantly break the rules. - Rep Dan Boren D-Ok

NCBACK, to answer your original question, I don't know how helpful this is, but alot of local, county, and state governments hire legal government employees to do landscaping, maintenance, etc. (I know...I know...sometimes these local governments contract this work out, and it's often to illegals.) But, for example, in Bel Air, MD where I grew up, there are actual city workers who are hired to do certain maintenance, trash collection, and repair work. My point is to contact your local or county government, and see if they have similar workers, and specifically if they have painters on staff. As these people are SUPPOSED to be legal citizens or legal immigrants with valid green cards, maybe try to contact them, and see if any of them will do side work for you. Or, even the non-painters on staff might have the skill and desire to do painting side work.
I know two brothers who are skilled, highly ethical handymen, but they live in Baltimore....sorry, too far away.
Hope that helps.

Kniggit--you only quoted half the quote. I said:Not trying to start a fight here just didn't like this

And I stand by that statement. There are alot of people who operate illegally just to keep from having to work for someone else. I don't disagree with American ingenuity and American craftsmanship, but those things still have to be pursued LEGALLY.That's right, If you can't afford to be legal, then to remain in business just because you think you are better than the rest of us is CRIMINALJoin our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)
