The amendment failed 49-49, if it is a tie it fails? This amendment would have corporations prove that there is no american workers to fill the position before getting a visa for a foreign worker. So now the corporations can just apply for the visas without first offering the positions to american workers. Another screw job to the american worker

Confused
I thought they voted yesterday to end the debates and just vote on the amendment.
Did I miss something? Or is the CSpan radio I'm listening too a repeat of an earlier day.

McCain is on now pushing for getting low-skilled workers into this country, sure why not we can then pay for them I see no possible way that low-skilled workers would bring any advantage to this country's workforces as they take out three times what they would put into the system in taxes. There is not benefit here for the US taxpayers.

Well as you can see my post above that amendment failed, they do not have to advertise for american workers before applying for visas for foreign workers now.

Butterbean's
This really isnt fair! I thought they were supposed to advertise a job for like 90 days to make sure Americans had the opportunity to apply first, and then hire a foreign worker IF THEY COULDNT FIND AN AMERICAN WORKER
I was suspicious then.Join our efforts to Secure America's Borders and End Illegal Immigration by Joining ALIPAC's E-Mail Alerts network (CLICK HERE)

Kennedy is up there now asking for fair distribution of work visas for low-skilled workers. Why is he doing that when his amnesty bill more than provides for an extrordinary number of low-skilled or no-skilled workers to stay in the country. What does he want all the low-skilled or no-skilled workers of the world. What an idiot
