Are we still doing the "day without Americans" on the 17th? i have it off from work so let me know.

dragon, I've been in so many fights over April 1l7 I don't know what to think! Seems that everyone is going off in a different direction now. It won't be effective if not enough do it to make it noticible and if we take off days now we can't take it later. What are you going to do? Have you heard of anyone else going to do it?

I scheduled the day off and so has my husband.

i have heard nothing. I saw the post here and took it off, but my boss says I can come in if i am uncertain. I do have a project tuesday night and wednesday night so it is not a big deal if im gone monday.

I guess we Americans are just conditioned to having a major Media Campaign for events - or we don't feel like they are really going. We are so...overmarketed....we hear the same commercials over and over and over - THEN we feel like it must be a real event! Listen, we've got to unlearn that!! Our movement doesn't have the moola to put on a Madison Avenue style AD campaign American style.

Seems like people are WAITING for something - and maybe they are subconciously WAITING FOR THE COMMERCIALS so they will feel like OUR events are real.

BTW, just talked to PineStraw by phone and he says the Poultry boycott sure is working there!! The markets have chicken at .39lb.

BUT YOU ARE MAKING A GOOD POINT, DRAGON5. IF YOU DON'T KNOW IF THE EVENT IS STILL GOING - THERE ARE PROBABLY MORE OF OUR "OVER-MARKETED, CONDITIONED TO CONSTANT ADVERTISEMENT" PEOPLE out there who need some affirmations about this.

We have only this weekend to get flyers out - to repost everything on every forum we posted the notice on - or bump up your previous posts.

I'm game! I won't spend a penny on April 17th. I'm unemployed so won't have a dilemna here. As far as tax day goes, there are forms to file extensions.

U had a flyer from somewhere. I'll be danged if I know where I got it from, I printed some out and forwarded them in e-mail.
