    According to the report, called "Sending Home Money: Leveraging the Development Impact of Remittances," 12.6 million Latin American immigrants in the United States will send about $45 billion to their home countries this year.
    That comes to $3,571.43 per worker, per year, or just under $300 a month. That money would do a lot more if it stayed in this country and worked for us.

    an economy that is driven mostly by high-technology?
    I don't even see us being a leader there anymore. What's growing is the delivery of social services with government being the primary employer. This bill is going to come due?
