Yes, that is correct. There is no law demanding we catch an illegal alien and no law requiring we release one we caught unless they are an asylum seeker, refugeee, UAC, women with children (court ruling), in custody for more than 6 months awaiting a deportation or other type of hearing (court ruling), posted a bond (court ruling) or have an order of release pending a hearing from the US Department of Justice (law).
