Call to Action for Human Rights!! Join us in Arizona July 23-30, 2010 for the National Week Against Criminalization! (A part of Alto Arizona's Summer of Human Rights.)
STOP SB 1070! STOP 287g! STOP Arpaio!
From Selma to Phoenix, From Civil Rights to Human Rights, and the Rights of Mother Earth!
...
Resistance has sparked across the state of Arizona and the country to defeat SB1070 and all racist policies that further criminalize our people and separate families. Knowing that if SB1070 is not stopped now, similar laws will spread throughout the country.
We demand that the Obama Administration take decisive action and not comply with Arizona’s SB1070. This law can only terrorize our communities if the federal government cooperates with it. We demand that all ICE programs such as 287(g), Secure Communities, and the CAP programs be suspended.
We demand Arizona institutions such as Cities, Towns, Police Jurisdictions, Universities, Colleges, K-12 Schools, School Districts and Businesses to publicly state that they will not comply and will not cooperate with SB1070.
We call on people from around the country to come to Phoenix and stand in solidarity with the communities of Arizona to stop the implementation of SB1070! If you cannot come to Arizona, have a solidarity action in your home community!
July 29th 2010

Hopefully all this lawlessness will do is further anger the American people who have gotten sick and tired of illegal alien invaders telling us what we should do and which laws they think don't apply to them. Let them act like the thugs and lawless morons they are. Arrest the leaders and most vocal...the others may get the message.

Lovely WE DEMAND! WE DEMAND!
I was so into the Civil Rights in the 60's and 70's, but this is so wrong - I'm totally not feeling it. I do question myself and my position alot but I'd rather fight than switch.Restitution to Displaced Citizens First!

The Gov would be within her bounds to call out the national guard in that state ,
I would not treat these idiots to gently either , cuffed and stuffed and every one of them should have their records and status checked.
I bet it will be a non event though
It will mainly be raza and brown beret troublemakers and abettors
A night in jail will do them good

Groups Against Ariz. Law Plan 'Civil Disobedience'
Organizer: We are not going to tolerate this
Updated: Tuesday, 20 Jul 2010, 10:36 PM MDT

PHOENIX - Groups opposed to Arizona's tough new immigration law are planning some "civil disobedience" on July 29, the day the legislation takes effect.
The leaders of the groups say they'll hold a candlelight vigil at the state Capitol in downtown Phoenix, march to a nearby church at 4:30 a.m. for a nondenominational service and then march to the federal courthouse in Phoenix.
They declined to describe what the "civil disobedience" would be, but emphasized it will be nonviolent.
Alfredo Gutierrez, organizer with the group Somos America, characterizes the protests as acts of defiance and hope for the Hispanic community.
A coalition of groups met Tuesday night at Carl Hayden High School to map out the protests and different events on July 29, but organizers were reluctant to share specific details.
Gutierrez told gatherers: "We are not going to tolerate this law, we are going to fight it."
The new law faces seven legal challenges, and a federal judge could decide to block it from taking effect. The groups say they'll still demonstrate if that happens.
Sheriff Joe Arpaio is planning to hold a crime suppression sweep on July 29.
