Fox News had a report on tonight regarding an individual that had killed seven people (children included). To make a long story short, after the police spokesman had finished his announcement about the murderer turning himself in, there was then a Spanish translation provided. I witnessed the same thing happen on two separate reports on the Fox News Channel tonight. I never noticed this before, is it something new? Why are they providing a Spanish translation?

This is not about language , this is about power . If people live in this country for many years , have jobs , houses , good lifestyle and they never bother speaking English , then they can think - this is nice , what can I do next , next they went to Congress - Mel Martinez is a very good example and now they will dictate their will to the whole country - language is just one more tool for gaining the power

That's exactly the reason why it's about language, HOPE, as you stated in the above comment.

Language binds a nation and builds unity. Without that common denominator, no matter where one comes from, the first divide begins.
The desire for power manifests itself from outside influences and also experiences.

Their experiences have proven to them that they can go from taking the inch to the yard as no one has stopped them, on the contrary, they've inspired them.

Anymore where I live, I am more likely to hear Spanish spoken than English. If thats not a sure sign of a takeover of the United States by latinos, then I don't know what is. They do not care about our language or our culture or our identity as a nation. In fact they are hostile towards all of it. We can thank the millions of illegal aliens that have entered our country from Mexico for that and our idiot politicians for allowing this to happen.

In many places, Americans can't get a job unless they speak Spanish. That isn't a good sign, either.

Where my wife works, there is a rule that foreign languages can only be spoken on breaks and lunches. While on duty, English must be spoken. The Spanish speakers do not care. They speak Spanish whenever they feel like it. It has been brought to the attention of management but they do nothing about it. Spanish speakers are coddled and given special treatment. They don't have to abide by the rules. Management is either afraid of being called racists or PC has reared it's ugly head again.
