Thread: Bill Gates wants to double H-1B vista's

At the behest of Microsoft and other large corporations, Representative Gabrielle Giffords (D-AZ) introduced a bill that would double the number of immigrant worker visas available each year under the H-1B program.

HR 5630, the so-called 'Innovation Employment Act,' would increase the cap in H-1B visas from 65,000 a year to 130,000 a year. Moreover, there would be absolutely no limit on the number of H-1B visas for foreigners who came as graduate students in technical fields to U.S. colleges.

The legislation would also increase the H-1B cap to 180,000 from 2010 to 2015 if the 130,000 cap were reached the year before.

While promoted as a reform of the H-1B program, the bill does nothing to prevent employers from using the program as a source of cheap labor to displace American workers. It would do serious damage to the American information technology sector, discouraging future students from entering these technological disciplines.

I agree.....another one that just needs to pack his bag and his cheap labor and go.

Bill Gates has MORE than enough money to pay AMERICAN employees! He is pressing for MORE foreign workers just to get MORE CHEAP labor!

Gates and other Billionaires are just part of the Global Economy BS. They have so much money they are grandfathered in against the current Socialist Movement to keep us all down and dependent.

He needs to shut his Pie Hole.

Think about this for a minute. Bill Gates has donated about half his wealth, 30 to 40 Billion, to charity causes. Much of this is for charity work outside of the United States. So, instead of charity work in Africa for example, why does not Gates and wife Melinda invest more, much more, HERE in our students to study computer science and math.

Yes, he is a globalist.

Carnegie, Rockefeller, Ford, Vanderbuilt, etc these were the rich of America who made a fortune on manufactured goods. Oil, steel, automobiles, mines etc. The created their wealth and they created millions of jobs. Bill Gates? Warren Buffet? Your computer HARDWARE is not American made. Buffet has just acquired companies. Todays millionaires and billionaires in America don't create wealth they acquire it on paper and jack up the stock price sell it and live inn Aspen and the Caribbean.

Tell me what new American entrepenuer has created the kind of jobs in the last 35 years where you can go to work with a good wage and benefits and put your kids through college? Wal-mart? PLUS, stay with that company for 40 years? Automobiles, steel, mines...this was the wealth of America and it is gone folks. Boeing controlled most of the commercial aircraft industry 40 years ago and now? Airbus, Embraer, British aerospace.

Why is China and India booming? Your American wealth that is why? Your politicans? You vote for McCain or Billary or Hussein Obama. I am sitting this one out until a NATIONALIST candidate emerges.



Globalization? Nafta? Cafta? Free trade? Offshoreing? Importing cheap labor called illegals?

OK if you gotta a million or a billion who cares right? But America has been giving its wealth away for 35 years and when Gates and Microsoft invest $2BN in INDIA how is it good for ALL 300 million Americans?

First the steel mills shut down. Then came the Japanese. Televison sets, radios, toys...all gone. Clothes? Gone.

Did you buy your Chinese Apple Juice today? How about that tube of Colgate toothpaste for $1 made in MEXICO? Bush says free trade is good and for whom? McCain agrees. Hillary says she was never for NAFTA but her HUSBAND cheater pushed it through. Obama says he opposes NAFTA then secretly tells Canada not to worry? Do you trust these 3? I don't.

Enjoy those Chinese olympics this summer and think about your American wealth that is paying for all of it while China kills Tibetens!

But hey, it is all good right?

Not to mention all the contamination coming out of China, heard the latest with the poison found in the heperin?

And don't forget about the hundreds or thousands of Americans that would otherwise have jobs due to the rampant abuse by multinationals using the L-1 visa program. I know of at least one abuse from first-hand sources.
