I finally called ICE and it feels great

I finally called ICE and it feels great

I just want to post that today was my first call to ICE to report a subdivision in my community that contracts only to illegal immigrants.

I called and spoke with a very nice person at ICE who asked me a couple of questions about the subdivision. Every questions was straight forward asking me what I know about the situation. At the end of conversation he very politely stated that he would send this information to the local ICE office.

Initially I thought making this call would be like going to the DMV but to my surprise it was not. I now have the ICE phone number saved in my cell phone address book to ensure I have it whenever the opportunity arises.

I finally feel like instead of sitting on my rear and complaining about this, I have actually done something.

Go out, take action and feel great about it.

For a time ICE was not giving worksite violation a very high priority-- as compared with other threats. I believe that has changed recently. Once the word gets out I think we will see a much higher return for the complaints that we can file with them. Who knows what will become of this present policy when the US administration changes in 2009?

Way to go "Firemaneric" besides being active on a site like alipac who is trying to wake up America, the action you took is a huge step, for one it lets ICE know the American people are sick of it and we want something done bad enough we are willing to take the time to call and make these kind of reports.

Rather they like it or not, doesn't matter, the fact is we are letting them know enough is enough, enforce are laws!!!

Good for you, you are a GREAT PATRIOT!!! Please encourge more people to do the same, we must wake Americans up!!

So as they say the squeaky wheel gets the oil. Would calling ICE for this builder weekly until this issue is addressed be a good move?

I can only imagine it would be positive, I am just not 100% sure there is no way it could be detrimental. (just thinking of the outcome before I act, clearly I am not an elected official)

I cant find a much better way to take advantage of my free nights and weekends!!!

Do you know how far into the development or project the builder is? Perhaps keeping an eye on it for indications that ICE has acted would be the best. Are they wrapping up or just getting started? IMO, reminding them wouldn't hurt--this lets them know the public is concerned. A letter might be sufficient, though.

They are about 1/3 done with their initial project, although they have a proposal in front of the town board to build another 200 units.

I have already sent an email to the town commissioners and mayor letting them know on public record that in the proposal they are debating, they need to know that they would be supporting illegal immigration.

Maybe I will stick with once a month if I do not see any action just to remind them. Also I will send a letter every now and then to use different modes of contact with ICE.
