    I have made that point - moderate Republicans do not win elections. Even Bush ran on a very conservative platform....he just reneged on the deal after he was in office.

    Bush I was pretty moderate, but he was able to ride Reagan's wave into office. He raised taxes and bam! He was out...he lost to a Blue Dog Democrat.
