Calm down, there is no chance of e-verify being passed in this session . Even if it was passed Obama would veto it. These three are the republican leadership at the moment, they have their finger of the pulse of the congress, they have a million different balls to juggle and we are just foot soldiers waiting for orders. Their major job right now is to play defense and prevent Obama from doing permanent damage. We have no choice but to trust them to handle the defense strategy, at least for now. The difference between an army and a mob is discipline. If us foot soldiers start fighting with each other like children then we will be torn to pieces by the Democrats. If we get control of the Senate and can keep the House then we may have enough power to go on offense and force Obama to sign something related to E-verify. If we also get someone like Romney elected then we will certainly get this done in the first year. If we get no action at that stage then there will be time enough for a palace revolt. However I don't think that is going to be needed

They may be thinking about "big business" and "big business" donations---in regard to hurting their chances in the Fall.
In this regard, they might be somewhat smart!!
Arizona's employer laws should be heard/ruled on by the Supremes any time now.....If the Supremes rule in favor of Arizona's law, E-Verify will become the law of the land.
We get E-Verify, without it taking away our chances in the Fall of sending Obama back to Chicago!!
And, there is always "AFTER" the elections, to get
E-Verify pushed/passed.
It does us no good to win a "small" battle now----if we lose the war!!

Compare the contributions from the food procesors from 2010 to 2012. Republicans are now reciving the larges percentage of money. The charts are impossible to move over, please click the links.
The nice thing about Open secrets is that you can look at any industry and see who it is supporting. Silly me, I thought that our reps were our paid lobbyists.

Again, I disagree. If the Supreme Court rules in favor of Arizona's law it does not make e-verify the law of the land. It simply in makes it the law in those states which have passed it as part of their laws dealing with illegal immigration.
As to the "AFTER the Elections" tactic, this is what the wimps in the GOP do every election cycle. They will not take on any issue that smacks of controversy, saying once we control the government then we will proceed. Because of that approach they control nothing, even when in the majority. What did the GOP promise if they took back the House? How much have they delivered? My take is that if they do not have the intestinal fortitude to take these issues on now, there will be NO "After the Elections" for the GOP.
Leadership is taking on hard issues and putting yourself on the line based on your principles. Politics is kissing babies, kissing butts, risking as little as possible, catering to special interests, and letting someone else stick his head out. I would like to see some real leadership in the GOP."We have met the enemy, and they is us." - POGO

If they would force a vote on e-verfiy and it passed but Obama vetoed it, so what? Use that against him in November, plus use it against everyone who voted against it in the House and Senate. Same with Obamacare. Same with the unwarranted EPA, FCC, FDA, etc. rules and regulations. Threaten to defund entire departments if they did not cease and desist from assuming the legislative prerogatives of the Congress. Show the American people how insidious this administration has become. Worse than that, how dangerous."We have met the enemy, and they is us." - POGO
