and become more dependent on government to tend to their needs
Dependent on the government? Therein lies the problem. The government is not my keeper nor should they be yours. It was NEVER intended to be GOD. Thats a major part of the problem we currently face. The government has become our nanny and this idiot wants to continue down that path.

Now there are increasing signs of acceptance.
Really? Not from where I sit.

Even as California is beginning to come to terms with immigration
Almost every Californian I ask would say otherwise. Just who are you talking to?

he thinks immigration is already peaking as a share of the U.S. population, and with Mexico's birthrate plunging, our biggest source of newcomers is drying up.
You are either a liar or stupid.

So according to Daniel Weintraub America is the total sum of its economy. It's people make no difference. IOW you could replace all of us with say Chinese. 100% Chinese and as long as the economy was working it will still be the United States of America?

Well this "80 %" must be the ones in hidding. Because the so called 20% are living under poverty (at their own preference) and are much more visible across the nation.

Besides. this Myers has completely lost the point.

This isn't a chance for illegals to get a fair shake
    and they'll help the economy.

This is a chance for the economy to turn even
more socialist and for Citizens themselves or their
daughters and sons to be the maids and gardeners
    ............. if they're lucky.

Because the thieving Mexican Nationals stole it all.

I predict it would be more like Mexico but even more
    repressive and violent.
