We have been demanding border security for decades.
    They know it.
Our federal government provides us with buzzers and whistles.
    Really expensive buzzers and whistles.
Who were the contractors that got our money?
    What was their obligation?
Did the contractor fulfill their obligation?

But officials said yesterday that they now expect to complete the first phase of the virtual fence's deployment -- roughly 100 miles near Tucson and Yuma, Ariz., and El Paso, Tex. -- by the end of 2011, instead of by the end of 2008. That target falls outside Boeing's initial contract, which will end in September 2009 but can be extended.

    Yeah right.

Aerospace and defense giant Boeing Co. has won a multibillion-dollar contract to revamp how the United States guards about 6,000 miles of border in an attempt to curb illegal immigration, congressional sources said yesterday.

Boeing's proposal relied heavily on a network of 1,800 towers, most of which would need to be erected along the borders with Mexico and Canada. Each tower would be equipped with a variety of sensors, including cameras and heat and motion detectors.

But the Government Accountability Office found that while DHS has put in place some oversight controls for reviewing Boeing's work, it "has not effectively implemented other controls" which have led to "costly rework and contributing to SBInet's well-chronicled history of not delivering promised capabilities and benefits on time and within budget."

In other words, Homeland Security did a poor job of keeping Boeing on task.

GAO also criticized Boeing for providing project information to DHS that was "replete with unexplained anomalies, thus rendering the data unfit for effective contractor management and oversight."

According to a report obtained by the National Association of Chiefs of Police, the security contractor — Boeing Co. — is installing the hi-tech physical security system. The original plan called for a completion date by December 2009 at a cost of $1.1 billion for a virtual fence. According to the report obtained by NACOP, Boeing requested that completion date to be amended by seven years.

If they (us) were really serious about securing our borders, we would have both a real fence and the military there. This would be a legitimate war mission. If there is a "war on terror" and "war on drugs", it would be totally constitutional. Unfortunately, it's all a shell game. The truth is, the globalists want open borders.
